SFist, sadly, wasn't at the Robyn show at the Warfield last night. But SF Weekly's All Shook Down blog and just about every gay man in town sure was! As blogger Joseph Schell describes, "Picture a just-this-side-of-androgynous Data (yes, from Star Trek), blonde mop, platform construction boots, goldish tights, love sensors turned up high in the CPU's emotion algorithm, full fuck-me vocabulary installed, whipping an 85 percent gay crowd into gyrating ecstasy." Also, she "added a line about 'dykes and trannies' to 'Dream On,' and it got huge applause." See his full rundown, with some nice photos right here, or watch last night's performance of her hit "Dancing on My Own" above.

Afternoon Palate Cleanser: Robyn Covering Bjork's "Hyperballad"

Can we be frank? Can we be frank? We're not the biggest Bjork fan. (More like Byuck, eh? Eh? *crickets*) However, we do enjoy Bjork's "Hyperballad" and we enjoy chanteuse Robyn, and here they are together. Best of all, Robyn is covering it in front of the Icelandic poster child herself. Chilling.

The UK has already showed their love for Robyn and the EP, as her track “With Every Heartbeat” reached #1 in the charts there. Over in Berkeley, the Audiophiles, will be opening over at Blakes for The Federalists. These four high school guys from San Francisco have been tearing up the local music scene for awhile now and they deserved to be noticed. Update: The Audiophile show is on Friday, not Thursday.

Friday, you have two choices: The Bruises or Editors. If you like smaller venues that serve up amazing local music, then head over to the Red Devil Lounge for The Bruises' CD release party. "We just make music we like, without trying to be a part of any fad or musical trend," says guitarist/singer Jen Black. Now, if you want to see a huge, genuine rock show, then the Editors/Hot Hot Heat/Louis XIV concert at the Warfield, is the place to be. SFist's Krissy saw their 2006 show and said, "Though we’re hard-pressed to find the originality in it, Editors do what they do extremely well." Sounds good enough for us.
