WildRescue put up a $5,000 reward for information leading up to an arrest and conviction for the person(s) responsible for shooting a red-tail hawk with a nail gun. "Animal rescuers are trying to capture a wild, red-tailed hawk loose in Golden Gate Park that may have been shot with a nail gun, reports the Chronicle. $10,000 Reward Offered In Search of Men Who Beat Giants Fan

After Thursday's opening game at Dodger Stadium, a Giants fan was brutally beaten by Dogders fan in the parking lot, a $10,000 reward has been offered by LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich for any information leading to an arrest. The victim has been identified as Bryan Stow, 42, a Santa Cruz paramedic and father of two. Stow was struck with fists on the back of the head and fell and hit his head on the ground, according to the San Jose Mercury News. The attackers, wearing Dodgers clothing at the time of the attack, then "kicked Stow and ran to a four-door sedan driven by a woman with a boy in the vehicle." more ›

Debby Brown's "Chorkie" (Chihuahua/Yorkie mix) named Lexi was stolen from Brown's locked car (with the A/C running) in Concord on Friday night, while Brown and her boyfriend went into a restaurant for take-out food. After Brown posted $10,000 reward posters all over the Concord area and on Craigslist, the dog-nappers agreed to meet with Brown in a Petco parking lot (of all places) on Monday morning. Lexi was safely handed over to Brown's boyfriend, who had persuaded Brown to stay home. Brown forked over the cash and has stuck to her promise not to prosecute or give any information to the police. Police say there has been a rash of car break-ins in the area, and that Brown's information could possibly have lead to an arrest. Now that's some dedicated pet ownership. more ›

The fire injured six firefighters, with two sent to the hospital, on Feb. 6. Former SF Mayor Willie Brown verbally ripped the chaps who did this a new hole today at a press conference today. "We have to find the culprit," Brown vented. "San Francisco's finest has been threatened."
