Real quick: One of our most favoritest comedians ever, Mr. Doug Benson (of Best Week Ever) is back at the Punchline beginning tonight. He will have three 8pm shows this week. We'll be there on Thursday (Say "Hi!"). Opening for Doug are Tony Camin and Ali Wong. We're wondering if Benson will deign to do his hilarious tasteless bit on the late SF tigress Tatiana and Carlos Sousa Jr.

SFist recently went to one of Robin William’s practice sessions at Bimbo’s and it rekindled our interest in comedy as a way to cope with national politics. The Daily Show has long been a bright spot on that front, thanks in part to the writing of Paul Mecurio. Mecurio has won both an Emmy and a Peabody for his writing for the Daily Show. He will be headlining at Punchline tonight through Saturday, tickets are available here. Still trying to decide? Watch this, and read on for his SFist interview below.
-- Doug Benson: How he didn't win the last season of Last Comic Standing is above and beyond all logic. Then again, competitive reality TV makes little sense at times. (See: Banks, Tyra) Benson managed to make it on LCS not once, but twice. And with good reason: he's downright hilarious. Nikki Glaser and Mo Mandel open for the Benson. Show starts at 8 p.m. (and continues until Saturday) at the Punch Line; $15.
-- Red Meat: God bless the Rickshaw Stop. And if (s)he existed, he totally would. Why? For many reasons. Take, for example, the fact that they often have extraordinary talent gracing the stage on Monday nights. (Mondays are, after all, the new Fridays.) Red Meat blends honky-tonk, bluegrass, country, and western swing with hints of gospel harmony. Mmm. Eilen Jewell (read more about her here), Axton Kincaid, and DJ Lenny & Squiggy (hee) also bring on the music starting at 8 p.m. at Rickshaw Stop; $5.
What happens when nearly 30 local artists create works of art made entirely from reclaimed and recycled materials? Head over tonight (or sometime this month) to find out at the Market Street Gallery for ReArt: The Art of Reuse. till 5pm, 1554 Market Street,SF.
We had just finished reading Steven Winn, Chronicle Arts and Culture Critic's (why do we feel compelled to go "well, lah dee dah" when we see that title?) decidedly mixed review of Dave Chapelle's show Monday at the Punch Line, when we got a follow-up to yesterday's Dave Chappelle piece from hott and sexxy SFist Tipster Katie:
Arlene Ackerman's BFF Wade Randlett and SFSOS are hosting the "San Francisco Homeownership Summit" [PDF] tonight. Panels include "How to Protect Yourself from the Board of Supervisors," and "Why Thurgood Marshall's Legacy is Hurting ." Okay, we made that last one up. [via The Golden Gate]
