At around 6 a.m. Friday, Occupy Wall Street West began its day-long, rain-soaked protest, which, if all goes according to plan, will disrupt business as usual in San Francisco's Financial District. First on the agenda, at least according to the OWSW itinerary, was to fry up some squid in front of Goldman Sachs. Why? Well, as OSW points, "[b]ack in 2009 Matt Taibbi referred to Goldman Sachs as 'a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.' Allegations Of Police Brutality Mar Occupy Oakland 'F**k OPD' Protest

Six people were arrested during Saturday night's "Fuck OPD" march after protesters allegedly turned surly with riot officers. According to The Chronicle, "The showdown Saturday night happened at the corner of Ninth and Washington streets, just blocks from Oakland police headquarters and the scene of an Oct. 25 clash in which protesters had thrown paint at riot officers, prompting police to fire tear gas." more ›

And just like that, a smattering of Occupy Oakland protesters have returned to Frank Ogawa. But this time they've taken to the trees. OakFoSho has recorded footage he shot live at the scene during the early morning tree climb. Prior to this morning's stuny tree-sitters resided in the trees at the plaza for about a month. Protesters have headed to The Port of Oakland this morning in a part of a West Coast economic blockade to stop shipments from coming or going. Los Angeles, Long Beach, Portland, Anchorage, Seattle, Tacoma and Houston are all taking part in today's effort to "attack the 1% at their point of profit." So far, hundreds of protesters in the East Bay, marching and banging drums, are blocking trucks from entering the port.
