But we say her her legal name was Samantha Wood, because the Chronicle reports she has just won a legal battle to change her name to Candi Bimbo Doll, after a previous July 2023 ruling that said the word “bimbo” was too offensive to grant as a legal name.

“My bimbofication has been a yearslong journey and I still have many more years to go — it is an iterative process that will likely never be complete, because that's the nature of artificial perfection: there is always a higher peak to ascend to," Candi Bimbo Doll said in a release through her attorney Jim Reilly, published in the Bay Area Reporter. "This name change, however, is a step made with such rich and irrevocable clarity of purpose that for the first time in my life I can't imagine one that would go beyond it."

Mission Local had covered this story right after it was appealed to the First District Court of Appeal. Judge Gail Dekreon had ruled last July that “bimbo” was a “word or phrase deemed to be offensive,” citing the 1992 case Lee v. Ventura County Superior Court, wherein a man tried to legally change his name to “Misteri N*****.” In that case, the appeals court ruled that the n-word was “a racial epithet, i.e., a disparaging or abusive word which may be a ‘fighting word.’”

But in the unanimous 3-0 appeal ruling noted that the word “bimbo” had been approved for business permits and on state license plates, and did not meet the “fighting word” criteria.

“The Secretary of State has no issue with Bimbo," Justice James Richman wrote in the ruling, according to the Bay Area Reporter. "Nor does the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV instructions state that it will not issue a personalized license plate that has 'sexual connotation' or a 'vulgar term or a term of prejudice or hostility.' We understand the DMV has issued so many personalized license plates in the name of 'Bimbo,' 'Bimbo 1,' 'Bimbo 25' etc., that new requests are met with the statement that 'the license plate you selected is no longer available.'"

It seems the justices have a point. As Mission Local notes, there is a legal and licensed nightclub in town called Bimbo’s 365, and a well-known food and snack brand called Bimbo is sold all over California. But personally, I can’t see the words “Candi Bimbo Doll” without singing them in my head to the tune of the 2002 Who Da Funk dance hit “Shiny Disco Balls.”

Related: SF Shoot For Sense8 Hit With Sanctions Over Public Park Nudity [SFist]

Image: Law Office of Jim Reilly

Final Kink.com Film Shot At The Armory Is Released And It's A 'Twin Peaks' Porn Parody

SF-based BDSM porn concern Kink.com has moved all their production to Las Vegas, and this was the final movie they shot here at the Armory earlier this year.

Arts & Entertainment

armory

kink

kink.com

porn

Jay Barmann

SF-based BDSM porn concern Kink.com, as we now know, is no longer using the historic Armory complex to shoot their array of mostly web-based porn productions, opting instead to move most of the production work to Las Vegas. And now the final Armory-shot porn film is out, and it's a Twin Peaks parody called Damn Fine Pie!.

As XBiz reports (link NSFW), the setting for Damn Fine Pie! is the brothel and casino over the Canadian border called One-Eyed Jacks, which figures into the original TV series. And building off of the plot of the series, the porn parody centers on the character of Audrey Horne (played by Amber Ivy), who goes to One-Eyed Jacks to try out prostitution, curious about the dark side of her dead friend Laura Palmer's life. There she runs into a group of male characters that will be familiar to fans of the show: Dr. Jacoby (Tommy Pistol), James Hurley (Owen Gray), Bobby Briggs (Will Havoc), Ben Horne (Mickey Mod) and Leo Johnson (Jon Jon). And they have a gang bang.

"What could be a more fitting end to the surreal decade we spent at the Kink castle than a tribute to this dark, cult series?” says director Maitresse Madeline Marlowe. "As a huge fan of surrealist films, David Lynch has played a pivotal part in forming my artistic spectrum. Being able to shoot a parody of my favorite TV show is absolutely a high point as a director."

She adds that after the shoot was over the cast and crew had "a champagne toast to the final farewell film at the Armory."

The decision to move production to Las Vegas, originally framed as a protest against growing regulation in California like that recent proposition (which did not pass) mandating condom use on all porn shoots, may actually be a bit more business-minded in the end — sources within the company have said that they've already overused many of the sets they built in the sprawling building and needed a change, and that the larger issue is really the introduction of new office tenants who likely won't want porn being shot in their midst, and the transition of the massive former drill court space into a concert venue. Liquor sales and nudity don't mix in California, under the law, so the company risked running afoul of the ABC if they continued their shooting schedule in the building with a regular concert schedule happening as well.

Vice looked in on the final shoot and wrote a piece about the shuttering of Kink's SF production studio back in March, looking back on the thousands of porn shoots that took place there.

For the past decade, the Armory has been a brick-and-mortar incarnation of the Marquis de Sade's wet dream. It's a place where all manner of fetishes, from the grotesque to the glamorous, were explored in unrelenting detail. More than 8,000 pornographic films featuring everything from erotic waterboarding to "enema debutantes" were made here, in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood. This is where Kink hosted dozens of classes and workshops on topics such as electroplay and the art of rope restraint, along with sex-positive events and parties. The Armory wasn't just an illicit landmark — the 200,000-square-foot edifice was a bastion for some of San Francisco's edgy sex cultures.

Vice says that Kink's move out of town after a decade in the Mission is "symptomatic of broader trends of the Silicon Valley-fueled gentrification pushing sex-positive spaces out of San Francisco," but Kink founder Peter Acworth was more pragmatic in talking about it to the Chronicle earlier this year. “Porn is not nearly as profitable as it was,” he said. “We have had to change our business model.” He noted the incredible expense of maintaining the building without having things like concerts and other tenants to pay the bills. He estimated that the building still needs somewhere between $13 million and $20 million worth of upgrades to be brought up to code, and such expenses will have to be paid by bringing in new tenants.

Kink is still maintaining its offices on one floor of the historic Armory, and nightly tours in the space, and its creepy basement sets, will continue for the foreseeable future — at least that's what Acworth was saying in January.

If you're interested in seeing porno Audrey Horne and the gang go at it one last time on the Armory's Victorian-styled Upper Floor, you can do so here (NSFW!! NSFW!!).

Once again, Dan Savage's carefully curated film festival for homegrown porn (and somewhat porn-y indie shorts) HUMP! is returning to San Francisco, marking the first stop on its national tour at the Victoria Theatre starting next Wednesday, January 11. This year the festival's program plays 11 times over the course of four days, and there are still tickets for most of those showings, going for $25 — and yes, you have to be over 18 to attend.

This is the 12th annual HUMP! festival, and SFist spoke with one of last year's filmmakers, who preferred to remain anonymous, saying, "The more we can contribute to the portrayal of porn actors as normal people — beautiful people who are beautiful without bleached hair and bleached assholes — the better."

The program consists of a couple of hours of shorts, all under five minutes, and all representing "a cornucopia of body types, shapes, ages, colors, sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes — all united by a shared spirit of sex-positivity." The full list of films and descriptions, which you can see here, includes things like a camping trip that "goes from bromance to Brokeback real quick," a tutorial by two transwomen "in ass-eating, blowjobs, rim seats, and scorching hot sex," a "musical number featuring sock puppets, xylophones, and intergenerational fist fucking!," and footage of a "Summer Fuckation" in which a "hot straight sporty couple fucked at Burning Man, climbed some rocks and fucked on top of those, they even fucked in the sky."

As Savage himself has described the fest, "It's rare for people to watch porn that takes them outside their comfort zones — it's rare for people to watch porn that, if they were home alone in front of the computer, they wouldn't choose to click on and watch. At HUMP! straight people watch gay porn, vanilla people watch kinky porn, gay people watch lesbian porn. And people laugh, they gasp, sometimes they cover their eyes. But at the end of every film people clap and cheer."

Fewer SF Women Watch Porn, Percentage-Wise, Than In Other Major Cities

Even Salt Lake City ranks above SF.

SF News

porn

Jack Morse

San Francisco is a notoriously kinky town. What with Folsom Street Fair, the Up Your Alley Fair, numerous sex clubs, and the Kink.com headquarters, we're a regular paradise for the uninhibited and frisky. Which is why we were surprised to learn that not that many women in San Francisco, percentage-wise, watch porn — at least in comparison to other major cities.

The data comes to us via xHamster (warning: that is a very NSFW link), which "ranked ten US cities to find out who had the greatest percentage of female porn viewers." San Francisco is at the bottom of the list.

"Some of this may have to do with the fact that we also have the highest percentage of gay men in the nation, or that tech has sort of bro-ed out the city," speculates Mike Stabile, spokesperson for porn industry trade group the Free Speech Coalition. "But looking at international data, it also seems that porn viewership for women actually goes up in more conservative or repressive countries."

Maybe the women of SF just get their fetish on in innumerable other ways.

If San Francisco comes in last, who comes in first? Well that honor would go to Atlanta, followed by Miami and then Chicago (the entire list is embedded below) — even Salt Lake City ranks above SF on the list.

Who would have thought that in 2016 more women in the Mormon capital would watch pornography than do right here at home? Maybe San Francisco locals just make better use of their imaginations — or they're busy having more actual sex.

A group of adult performers, public health advocates, and elected officials plan to join forces today in front of the San Francisco Women's Building in opposition to Proposition 60. The ballot measure, which would require performers to wear condoms in all California shoots, has been criticized by its opponents as both harming public health and potentially promoting harassment by allowing anyone in California to sue individual adult actors if they are seen performing without a condom.

As we reported last November, the measure was pushed by AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein. Weinstein believes the measure, if passed, will positively affect public health by modeling safe-sex behavior to pornography-watching youth. "The No. 1 way that young people learn about sex in this day and age is pornography on the Internet," he told the Associated Press last year.

According to a press release sent out today by the "Stop Prop 60" campaign, however, Weinstein has it all wrong — and a growing number of elected officials agree. “The Department of Public Health reports that implementation of Proposition 60 would further drive the adult entertainment industry underground or to places that offer few protections for adult film workers," Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chief Executive Officer Sachi A. Hamai wrote to her colleagues last month of the statewide measure. "The DPH indicates that this could have the opposite of the desired effect of the ballot initiative, which is to increase the health and safety of adult film workers.”

The proposition has also been opposed by the California Democratic Party and the California Republican Party, and has even brought together Supervisors Jane Kim and Scott Wiener — opponents in a heated State Senate race — in opposition to the measure.

Weinstein is often viewed as a controversial figure, and drew the ire of many in the LGBTQ community after he called the PrEP drug Truvada, which is taken to greatly reduce the chances of contracting HIV, "a party drug." His past attempts to get adult performers to wear safety goggles on set have also not been looked upon kindly by those in the industry.

Adult performers themselves are also very much against the measure, going so far as to launch a social media campaign in an attempt to spread awareness of what they view as a flawed proposal. “I was feeling so defeated and overwhelmed by how much damage Prop. 60 could do to us as a work force and personally that I had to do something,” adult star Julia Ann told SFist of her efforts against the measure.

The protest is scheduled to run from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. today.

The 6-second repeating videos have become a pop-culture staple since the company launched in 2013, and for many the decision to halt Vine felt premature and abrupt. However, as Cnet reports, all those devotees may have found a savior in the most improbable of places: Pornhub.

That's right, online pornography site Pornhub just offered to buy Vine.

In a letter addressed to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Pornhub VP Corey Price laid out his case and argued that Vine is a uniquely perfect medium for pornography. "We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine. Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel,' 'Awkward Puppets' and many more."

The offer was not made publicly, and it's not clear who shared the letter with Cnet. However, it's easy to understand why he or she did as Price goes on to argue that his company could "restore Vine to Its NSFW glory" and that "porn in six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves."

Most of the internet, predictably, responded with enthusiasm.

As to whether Twitter is seriously considering the offer, of if the offer is even serious? Well, Cnet isn't sure. Yes, this could just be a PR ploy from Pornhub (which: it's working), or it could be a legitimate attempt to snatch up the company for pennies on the dollar. Either way, we doubt it's what Vine founder Rus Yusupov had in mind when he sold his company to Twitter back in 2012.

Depending on who you ask, the Prop. 60 ballot measure mandating the use of condoms in adult films either has strong majority backing, or its support “has fallen dramatically”. One interpretation of last week’s USC/Los Angeles Times poll is that November’s California ballot proposal requiring condoms in pornographic film shoots looks comfortably ahead, with 55% supporting the measure and 32% saying they’d vote against it. Another interpretation is that of the Free Speech Coalition, who point out that Prop. 60 had the support of 71% of voters when introduced, and is now “faltering among likely voters”.

The adult-film industry, whose active members are pretty staunchly opposed to the mandate, is pulling out all the stops in hopes that support for Prop. 60 continues to falter. Our old friends Treasure Island Media now post a “No On 60” pop-up ad before you can enjoy their website’s man-on-man action. Anyone who follows adult performers on social media has surely seen the “No On 60” memes that so many have adopted as their avatars, created by adult star Julia Ann and Bay Area designer Isabel Dresler.

“I was feeling so defeated and overwhelmed by how much damage Prop. 60 could do to us as a work force and personally that I had to do something,” Julia Ann told SFist. “So I changed my profile picture to include the #NoProp60 button.”

The buttons have caught on to the effect that most adult-film performers in California now use them as their social media avatars. “To date, I think I’ve made around 800 [avatars] and another performer named Kissa Sins kicked in to help me and has made around 400,” she said. “I think there's around 1,500 out there as of now, which is huge since there is only an estimated 1,800 performers working currently.”

Aside from these social media efforts, Prop 60. has recently received a slew of "No" recommendations from various newspaper editorial boards, including the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, the Sacramento Bee, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. (To be fair, Prop. 60 did receive the support of the Bakersfield Californian.) A recurring theme in this opposition is that individual adult performers could potentially be sued or publicly doxxed the way the measure is written.

“Prop 60 is being sold under the 1970/1980s model of the industry where there were companies, producers and performers. That 1970/1980s model no longer exists,” Julia Ann said, noting industry changes in the Internet porn era. “Today it is estimated that over 75% of the performers are producing their own content, and so would be considered producers, and therefore liable under Prop. 60.”

Attempts to solicit comment for this article from Yes On Prop. 60 committee and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (the measure’s only major donor) were unsuccessful. But PolitiFact rates the claim as half-true, noting that “Some adult film workers, and perhaps a growing share, could face lawsuits if they have a financial interest in the content they work on. But Prop 60 does not specify what constitutes a financial interest. Ultimately, it may be up to the courts to decide.”

But these court cases could pose a huge threat to performers, who — if it is argued they make any money off the film’s sales — would be at risk of having their real names and home addresses made public in court documents, even if found innocent. “Performers are now facing the prospect of thousands of lawsuits, and the exposure of their names and home addresses, and possible bankruptcy from legal fees,” said Mike Stabile, communication director of industry trade group the Free Speech Coalition.

“The fines start at around one and a half times the cost of production, and the person who brings the suit gets 25% of that and their legal fees paid for by the defendant,” Stabile told SFist. “And you can bring that suit against multiple people involved in the production or distribution — the studio, the performer, the cable operator, and so on. It's a cash cow, and anyone in the state can get in on it. In his pursuit of condoms, he's put a target on the head of everyone in the adult industry.”

(By “he”, Mr. Stabile means AIDS Healthcare Foundation president Michael Weinstein, who is known to our readers for his vocal opposition to PReP medication and for suing the city over formula retail limits applied to its AHF Pharmacy and Out Of The Closet retail stores.)

“Weinstein has a long history of filing similar complaints [against porn producers] himself, so some people have argued there's a financial motive for him behind it,” Stabile pointed out.

Prop. 60 advocates have about an 8-to-1 advantage in campaign contributions, thanks to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and the measure is additionally supported by the California State Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Prop. 60 is opposed by the California Democratic Party, the California Republican Party, and the Harvey Milk and Alice B. Toklas Democratic Clubs, respectively. Supervisor Scott Wiener will be outlining his own opposition to Prop. 60 at a Folsom Street Fair booth Sunday.

The era of immersive, 360-degree simulated sex on your smartphone has finally arrived. One would have figured that the recent release of the Oculus Rift, Samsung’s Gear VR and Google’s virtual reality headset Cardboard would eventually result in VR porn, and this hand-y technology is now available to anyone with a smartphone and a cheap VR headset. To celebrate the advent of this era, more than a hunded VR porn innovators, adult industry personalities, and habitual masturbators came together at the Kink.com Upper Floor Thursday night for a powwow called Traffic Jam 2016 that showcased the most state-of-the-art technology available for these strap-on devices.

NOTE: While this article is Safe For Work, all of the links below are VERY NSFW! Clicking on any of the links below will display outrageously explicit images, massively erect schlongs and fully nude starlets. Furthermore, many of these sites are designed to be viewed with a VR headset — so the erotic images will display in bizarrely formatted double vision if viewed on your workplace desktop. The sites are best viewed through a VR headset, preferably in an uninterrupted solo environment.

So how, exactly, do they make 360-degree virtual reality porn?

Take a look at this apparatus, a combination of GoPro cameras and synthetic human ears. “This is our 360-degree VR rig that we use to shoot events,” said George, a camera operator at Kink.com. “Every piece is commercially available. They’re all just things I had to Frankenstein together to make it work.”

“The microphones have human ears on them because you hear things the way you do because of the shape of your ears,” he told SFist. “If it’s just a hole inside of your head, you hear things differently.”

Kink uses this and other VR cameras for their [Again! Very NSFW!] KinkVR.com site that’s one of the few sources of any gay VR porn. “With Kink.com, we produce a lot of niche websites,” Kink spokesman Mike Stabile said. “We produce gay content, which there is not a lot of in VR. A lot of the [competitors’] content is very middle-of-the-road. You see a lot of hotel room blowjobs.”

Kink co-hosted the event with the adult streaming site Gamelink, who recently put out a virtual reality porn aggregate site as a clearinghouse of the best VR porn. “We’re like the Netflix of VR. We take the best movies and we put them on our platform,” said Jeff Dillon, VP of business development at Gamelink. “It’s a big shift in how the adult industry is producing and distributing content.”

Even live cam sessions with adult performers are now available on your smartphone. I caught up with the VR cam girl Ela Darling of Cam4VR, the first ever live cam platform in virtual reality. “It’s a photorealistic 3D, 360-degree experience,” Ms. Darling told SFist. “You get a real sense of who I am. You see the skulls on my shelf. You see the water-color portrait of Boba Fett. Everything that makes me me. It accelerates the intimacy and it also lends a greater sense of personhood to the performer.”

But most of us are not yet jacking it to VR porn, though, because most of us do not yet have these VR headsets. That’s where RubyVR comes in, and the totally Safe For Work RubyVR website sells affordable, custom, or branded smartphone-compatible Google Cardboard VR headsets for as little as $2. That’s the cheap model, of course, and they have higher-end headsets equipped with a headstrap available in the $35 range.

“You need the headstrap for this industry,” RubyVR EVP Michael Donohue told SFist. “You know the term ‘hands-free’? We like to say our headsets are ‘hand-free’.”

Other than the occasional nude march and rally, most San Franciscans have settled into Supervisor Scott Wiener's three-year-old ban on exposed flesh without too much grumbling, but now a location scout who's worked with some of the biggest Bay Area-set productions is suggesting that SF's puritanical ways might quash film and TV-makers' desire to shoot in our city.

Matthew Riutta's worked as a Bay Area location manager for all the biggies: Fruitvale Station, Moneyball, Zodiac, and many more (you can see his IMDB page here). Right now he's working on the second season of Sense8, the partially SF-set Netflix series from the Wachowskis.

In addition to shoots at Alamo Square's Westerfeld House and the Castro Theatre, this season of the science-fiction drama apparently will have scenes set in Glen Park's Billy Goat Hill Park. It's the latter location where the production (and Riutta) ran into trouble, according to the Chron.

Reportedly set in the park's iconic tree swing, which Curbed SF once described as "a chance for the brave to watch the land drop from beneath their feet," the scene in question "was supposed to be...romantic" the Chron reports. But "someone accidentally got naked," and now Riutta has been hit with a $1,000 fine and "must now pay a $10,000 security deposit for any future park filming permits."

Riutta, who in a 2013 interview with the Chron explained that his job requires that he both "get the film done, but also respect the locations and the residential community where you film," was not pleased by the sanctions imposed against him by San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department. As you might imagine!

Addressing the Board of Supervisors through a letter from his attorney, Riutta accused Rec and Parks with a "lack of transparency and process in relation to fees and policies." He's asking that the fine and his new deposit requirements be removed.

Of course, Rec and Parks isn't responsible for enforcing SF's nudity laws, which as of February 2013 made it illegal for anyone over the age of five to expose their genitals or perineum on public streets, sidewalks, street medians, parklets, plazas, or while riding public transit. Instead, it's up to the San Francisco Police Department to cite violators, with tickets that begin at $100 and rise for each additional offense over the course of a year.

That's hardly the $1000 demanded by Rec and Parks, so what gives? It's hard to say: Given that we don't have a date for the alleged offense, an SFPD spokesperson couldn't investigate any possible reports for me, and my call to Rec and Park had not been returned at publication time.

It's also unclear if Rec and Parks even oversees the swing on which the nudity reportedly occurred, as Curbed SF urges caution for swingers as they "are not sure the swings are sanctioned (or inspected) by any city entity."

In that letter to the Board of Supes, Riutta's attorney says "The Parks Department appear to perceive filming as a nuisance to be limited, which has a dangerous chilling effect for future film, television and commercial productions." Perhaps it's time for local gay porn concern NakedSword to get to work on a sequel to their 2013 opus mocking our nudity ban, The Cover Up. May I suggest they entitle it Billy Goat Buff?

You don’t often see 100 porn stars at a state safety board meeting, but that’s just what happened yesterday at the Harris State Building Auditorium in Oakland. A huge turnout of adult film actors, directors and producers seems to have swayed the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) Standards Board to deny a proposed measure that would have required condoms, dental dams and eye protections in adult film sex scenes.

At the conclusion of a hearing that went for six wearying hours, the board declared the proposal would not pass and the assembled porn industry superstars whooped it up in celebration as seen below.

Technically, the measure received 3-2 majority vote from the Standards Board. But four “yes” votes were required for passage, so the measure is likely to be kicked back to Cal/OSHA staff to be reworked.

"I'm actually more torn over this than I can ever explain," said board member Dave Harrison.

Adult performers felt the measure unfairly targeted their industry as opposed to other fields where workers are potentially exposed to pathogens. “My wife is an emergency room nurse,” said performer Maestro Stefanos, whom you may recognize from Kink.com’s (Very NSFW!) Upper Floor website. “My wife goes to work every day and comes home occasionally with blood all over herself and her scrubs. My wife spends every day working with people that don’t have a known (STI) testing status... Why are my safety protocols more stringent than my wife's, as an ER nurse?,” he argued to the board.

Still, this all might be seen as an early climax. The board's rejection of the proposal does not necessarily mean the end of the condoms in porn legislation. The measure will likely go back to Cal/OSHA management to be revised “with more input from the affected industry”, according to board member Patty Quinlan. Additionally, a measure requiring condoms in porn will be on the California state ballot in November 2016. And oh, are Fox News and Drudge going to have a field day with that one.

You're in luck if you were denied tickets to next weekend’s HUMP! Film Festival, Dan Savage’s 11th annual collection of short, offbeat porn films from all over the sexual diaspora of human kink. Additional screenings were just added for Wednesday (HUMP!-day) Jan. 27, with seats still remaining for the late-night shows next Friday and Saturday. Dan Savage himself hand-picked these films screening next week at the Victoria, with a line-up of amateur straight, gay, lesbian, transgender and splosh porn that includes a sexually explicit Katy Perry parody called I Fist a Grrrl.

This is not your father’s ‘porn stash’ porn. Check out the trailer for this year’s HUMP! Film Festival below.

SFist spoke with — well, we can’t say who we spoke with, because no real names are used in these genuine homemade porn films. “A lot of my friends, they work with kids,” said Filmmaker X, whose film The Collector won the Best Humor prize at the Seattle screening. “They didn’t want the parents to know they were in a porn festival.”

“We wanted to make the kind of porn we'd like to watch,” Filmmaker XXX told SFist (her feminist/fairy video game porn Level Up is one of the 22 films in this year’s show.) “Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of films out there that include things like pansexuality, politics, humor, and mixed-gender/bisexual group sex. And though the porn industry is growing with more homemade ‘amateur’ videos, the more we can contribute to the portrayal of porn actors as normal people — beautiful people who are beautiful without bleached hair and bleached assholes - the better.”

(NOTE: Bleached hair is also represented, if that's your thing.)

Dan Savage said in a statement that “We bill HUMP! as an amateur porn festival. But it's more than that. It's rare for people to watch porn that takes them outside their comfort zones — it's rare for people to watch porn that, if they were home alone in front of the computer, they wouldn't choose to click on and watch. At HUMP! straight people watch gay porn, vanilla people watch kinky porn, gay people watch lesbian porn. And people laugh, they gasp, sometimes they cover their eyes. But at the end of every film people clap and cheer."

HUMP! gets over the stigmas of ageism, size-ism and shame with a hardcore buffet of body types, fetishes and kink. “I think one of the amazing parts about HUMP! is that it makes adjectives like ‘dirty’ a positive thing,” Filmmaker XXX said. “It helps de-shame porn and the entire sexual experience.”

HUMP! just added screenings on Wednesday, January, 27 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets also remain for the 11:30 p.m. show on Friday, January 29 and 11 p.m. on Saturday, January 30.

A measure that would mandate all pornographic film performers in California wear condoms during shoots will be on the 2016 ballot next November. The Secretary of State yesterday announced that the measure had received over the required number of signatures needed to qualify. The measure has sparked controversy, with at least one prominent figure calling it necessary to combat the spread of HIV while others see it as potentially driving the regulated pornography industry into the shadows.

The measure was crafted and pushed by AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein, who told the Associated Press how he believes this measure, if passed, will have a broad impact on sexual health.

"The No. 1 way that young people learn about sex in this day and age is pornography on the Internet," said Weinstein. "In porn, real people are having real sex. They're transmitting actual diseases, and the audience knows it. It's not like a fictional Hollywood film."

The (questionable) logic being that if prophylactic use is modeled in porn, then young people are more likely to use condoms themselves.

This argument shifts the focus of a potential condom mandate away from the people that would be legally required to wear them (the pornographic performers), and onto the effect that porn has on society — even though Weinstein has gone via several routes to police condom use in the industry, also arguing for workplace safety (something the industry rejects because of strict testing requirements), and having failed to get a workplace safety measure passed in the state legislature in 2014.

Weinstein has also lately been pushing for porn performers to have wear goggles or other eye protection in porn shoots for the same reason, something the industry, obviously, thinks is insane, and compares to "asking ballerinas to wear boots."

Weinstein is a somewhat controversial figure in the gay community as well, having previous called the life-saving PrEP drug Truvada "a party drug."

This comment outraged many, and even led to a petition to have Weinstein removed as the president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (the petition ultimately failed).

Proponents of daily PrEP use include Supervisor Scott Wiener, who has publicly detailed his own use of the drug. The drug, as shown again in a recent study conducted at Kaiser San Francisco, has proven to be highly effective in HIV-negative men in preventing the transmission of HIV.

Opponents of the upcoming ballot initiative include an adult-film industry trade group, the Free Speech Coalition. The organization warns that the ballot measure is fundamentally flawed on numerous levels, one of which being that it allows for any Californian to sue performers who do not wear condoms in films.

Diane Duke, CEO of Free Speech Coalition, further explained the industry's opposition in a press release.

"Unfortunately, the proponent of the bill, Michael Weinstein, is more concerned with his personal moral crusade than the real-life concerns of adult performers," wrote Duke. "It does not seem to matter to him that this initiative endangers performers' lives, nor does it matter that his previous attempts to force condoms on porn stars have been opposed by legislators, HIV activists, editorial boards and the performers themselves."

Duke further argues that producers of pornography will simply leave the state should this measure pass — something that the state's nonpartisan Legislative Analyst estimates could cost California "tens of millions of dollars annually in lost state and local tax revenue" as CBS 5 reports. However, Weinstein doesn't see that as likely, telling to the AP that the state's nice weather — allowing for year-round outdoor porn shoots — will inevitably keep them here.

Apparently he hasn't visited Arizona. Or Nevada.

Target shopper Gina Young was with her twins in the chain's Campbell, California store Wednesday when someone began playing the audio from a porno over the store's PA system. She recorded it for posterity and posted it to Youtube and Instagram as you can see above. And, hilariously, one of her three-year-old twins asked of the moaning woman blaring over the speakers, "Is she hurt?"

Says Young, "People offered to help me cover my twins' ears. Others threw their stuff down and walked out. Employees were running around everywhere. Picking and hanging up phones, which worked… for about two minutes before it started up again."

In the video you can sort of see a couple of employees rushing, somewhere, to fix this.

Funnily enough, this is not an isolated incident! As the SF Chronicle notes, something similar happened in July at a Target store in San Luis Obispo, which led to a brief evacuation of the store.

The LA Times got a Target spokesperson on the phone who said the company is investigating the incident, and they “want our guests to know that we take this very seriously.” The spokesperson adds, “We are actively reviewing the situation with the team to better understand what happened and to help ensure this doesn’t happen again."

Was this a marvelous prank by a clever hacker? Or have two different managers plugged their laptops into the wrong jack on their lunch breaks in two different towns?

In any event: hilarious.

Update: As KTVU and others are reporting, this is at least the fourth such instance of what appears to be a serial hacking job dating back to April, with two other California stores, in Colma and Tulare, also both experiencing similar porn audio attacks.

A notorious local gay porn studio is set to release a gangbang porn flick with a woman and a trans woman in starring roles, but the gang’s not all on board. Treasure Island Media, a studio so raunchy they’ve been banned from the Folsom Street Fair, crosses the gay porn gender taboo in their upcoming release F*** Holes 3, which comes out August 5th. Depending on who you ask, this is either a breakthrough for a silent, underrepresented porn-consuming demographic or a slap in the face to everyone who’s marched since Stonewall.

(NOTE: Every link in this article is NSFW. These links are hardcore beyond your typical ‘Not Safe for Work’, as these links depict nasty creampie anal gangbangs and such. Clicking on these at work will probably get you fired on the spot. While this article is Safe For Work, the external links below contain explicit gay gangbag porn images. You will either vomit at them or furiously masturbate to them.)

Treasure Island Media’s new film F*** Holes 3 is a continuation of its popular Fuck Holes franchise. (Don’t watch them out of order!) These are standard gay porn bareback gangbang videos — except that Fuck Holes 3 features SF Weekly’s Whore Next Door and cis-female Siouxsie Q James and trans woman Sami Price on the business end of bareback gangbangs. Most of the film is all-male, but two scenes feature models who identify as women.

This was not well-received at gay porn blog The Sword. “Would this be boundary-pushing? Or is this just flat-out, gag-me gross for the majority of Treasure Island’s fan base?,” The Sword asks. Says one Sword commenter, “Gay porn industry has no gay pride. Painfully desperate.”

SFist reached out to the film’s director Max Sohl. “I have never had a movie this discussed based on the trailer alone,” Sohl told SFist. “Some of the comments are surprising given that they haven’t seen what they are commenting on and really are judging based solely on the ‘idea’ of the casting.”

Siouxsie Q James says she’s also received some bareback blowback for doing this scene. ”Random people ask me on Twitter if I have AIDS, which goes to show how deeply homophobic porn and its consumers can be,” she told SFist. “A lot of people are mad that I'm in this movie, and as a queer person I get how frustrating it is when your space gets dominated and taken over by straight people, like the Lexington Club just recently. I am certainly not trying to do that.”

“I was so honored that this historically gay director wanted to cast me in this genre-busting film,” she continued. “Yes, there are women in this film, it is still shot by a gay director for a gay production company. The focus is on the dudes.”

The criticism comes not just from the gay blogs and Twitter, but also from within the adult industry. Some performers were told they’d be blacklisted if they did this film

“Apparently there is a big anti-crossover mentality in straight porn,” Sohl said, “They don’t want their models to ‘crossover’ into gay porn and even though it was a 100% straight scene. My background and Treasure Island was all they needed to hear. One straight male porn star was told by another straight porn company if he did the scene they wouldn’t hire him again.”

Despite the outcry on social media and within the industry, Sohl seems to enjoy the attention and asserts the response has been mostly positive. “Fuck Holes 3 will not be for everyone — not everything we do is,” he said. “Anyone who is that disturbed by the sight of a pussy can skip it. But if they check it out they might find the enjoy the sight of some super hot straight men breeding.”

It should be noted that Treasure Island Media has especially enjoyed courting controversy in recent years. And while they've always specialized in non-condom, raunchy gay porn, they broke new ground in the HIV-in-porn debate last year with their movie Viral Loads, which depicted a male porn model getting gangbanged and having a jar labeled "Poz Cum" injected into his anus with a syringe. Salon picked up the story of HIV becoming "a turn-on," and interviewed the openly HIV-positive model in question, Blue Bailey, who said at the time, " To me, it doesn’t seem like a controversy at all."

Fuck Holes 3 will be available August 5 on Treasure Island Media. The film also stars Flynn Evans, Kyle Ferris, Eli Lewis, Rob Yaeger and Rocco Steele in addition to the aforementioned lady parts-having performers.
Image: Treasure Island Media

Porn Stars And Fans Glam It Up At 'Marriage 2.0' Premiere At The Victoria

Fresh off winning Best Movie at the Feminist Porn Awards, the intellectual adult film Marriage 2.0 has a glitzy SF premiere.

Arts & Entertainment

andre shakti

Carol Queen

daisy ducati

india summer

kink

marriage 2.0

mickey mod

Nina Hartley

porn

pornography

ryan driller

sfist_reviews

Joe Kukura

Most pornographic films do not have glamorous red carpet theatrical premiere events. That's because most pornographic films have names like “Anal MILF Bunnies 38” and are shot on video in a span of about four hours. The new adult erotic drama “Marriage 2.0” tries to change that, and just won Best Movie of the Year at the Feminist Porn Awards. The film is a legitimate cinematic achievement with a dialog-driven plot, moving performances and stunning cinematography of our beautiful Bay Area — as well as some attractive people boning. “Marriage 2.0” had its official premiere at the Victoria Theatre Saturday night at a gala event with all the film’s stars on hand in what producer Magnus Sullivan called an attempt to “reestablish adult as a relevant cinematic medium”.

“Marriage 2.0” is a feature film that covers the ups, downs, and boudoir complications of polyamory, the trendy new relationship model that places like the Huffington Post can’t stop blogging about. For couples curious about polyamory, “Marriage 2.0” is an excellent and realistic primer for how poly relationships work and how they can blow up in your face. For experienced polyamorists, “Marriage 2.0” is easily the most sophisticated and relatable modern film on the topic. For fans of traditional Hollywood romantic films, well, you people are probably better off just renting “Bridget Jones’ Diary” again.

The cast features mostly adult film stars, many of whom spoke at a panel session after the premiere about the shift to playing complex, multidimensional characters. Local porn hunk Mickey Mod (above left) noted, “A lot of the roles I have are what I call ‘stanger porn’. It’s the pool guy, it’s the pizza guy, it’s the secretary. Often the conflict that is portrayed in the narratives that we’re in is based out of this conflict of infidelity,” he said. “It’s so rare that we actually get to portray something that shares our actual experience.”

Star Ryan Driller put it another way. “My typical role in adult film is a prop,” he said. “Most of you wouldn’t recognize me from above my belly button or below my waist.”

“Marriage 2.0” does show remarkably hot explicit sex, and mixes in plenty of food porn and scenery porn too. But this film is almost 90 percent dialog! It portrays couples talking, processing, arguing and then having post-argument sex. The script has a number of wonderful zinger lines, and uproarious comic cameos from local legends Nina Hartley and Carol Queen.

There are additional cameos from counterculture Bay Area stars like ‘Elvis Herselvis’ Leigh Crow, Red Hots Burlesque’s Dottie Lux, and several edgy local alt-porn performers.“A lot of folks in this film already identify as being part of the alternative sexual community, we’re kind of like the weird kids sitting at the corner table of the cafeteria with all the goth make-up on,” said alt-queer performer Andre Shakti. “In San Francisco, it’s like we all go to a playschool of all those weird goth kids.”

“Marriage 2.0” does not figure to have a proper theatrical run, but is now available via online streaming. Like many of its stars, this film flaunts its square-peg status with pride. “Adult doesn’t know what to do with this film, it’s not a masturbation film,” Sullivan said. “Mainstream doesn’t want to touch it because it’s porn. So we’ve fallen kind of into this weird gap where we’ve created exactly what we wanted to create, something that that exists between the adult cinematic genre and indie or mainstream [films].”
