We are, quite suddenly and without warning, raging Instagram fans. (If the mood should strike, follow your SFist editor here or SFist's nascent account here.) As far as les médias sociaux goes, it's knocked out the nonsense text and political gibberish that stains Facebook and clipped the hysterics and basket cases found on Twitter. Also, (thus far) no distant relatives of ours have posted their umpteenth screed on the wholesomeness of Chick-fil-a. Just filtered photos, please. And with that, we give you the first ever music video done entirely on Instagram!

"Invasión" by the Plastics Revolution features 1905 pictures that went through the normal Instagram process on an iPhone. Filmmaker Art Perez shot the entire thing in San Francisco, so that makes it doubly wonderful. It also features the rarely-ever told tale of a cute white straight young couple finding love amid an indie-pop backdrop. Enjoy.

ART: Visiting "mirror" artist Daniel Rozin has created a dazzling exhibition, "Reflections," in which guests can "multiply your visage into hundreds of kaleidoscopic views, use computers and mirrors to distort your appearance, experiment with your face under different wavelengths of light, and play with perspective to capture aspects of yourself you’ve rarely witnessed. Among the exhibits on display are new interactive works highlighting Daniel Rozin’s provocative take on self-examination."

Pop Matters says that even if the collaborators' new release A Woman and a Man Walked By, "isn't the most essential item in either artist’s discography, it’s still one worth hearing—if only to witness how slowly and deliberately it reveals its difficult charms."

MUSIC II: New wave meets bossa nova with French band Nouvelle Vague, who remake new wave singles with a Brazilian pop twist. Sounds like an irresistible combo.

This just in: "The Killers have been forced to cancel their show this evening at San Francisco's Warfield due to illness. The show will be rescheduled for December 12th at The Warfield; all tickets from the cancelled show will be honored for this date."

"It's not even on Goldenvoice's page for the show yet," our well-placed source wrote, "For shame."

No word on whether the cancellation is due to illness or "illness."

Press release-y link: "The Killers would like to apologize to their fans for the cancellation."

So all you semi-ironic listeners and non-ironic kiddies will have to do something else tonight instead of tryin' to squint at the stage and kinda-sorta pretend that The Killers were actually Duran Duran circa a brighter completely-idealized utterly-imagined time in the past.

Tuesday: Our first Noise Pop night was on Opening Night at the Rickshaw Stop, which was available to badge-holders, staff, and volunteers. We got there right when the doors opened and went straight up the stairs toward the complimentary Blowfish Sushi, which we loaded onto our cocktail napkin that soon became soggy with wasabi and soy sauce. (We gave all but two of these rolls to our spouse who was working the merch table all night.) We helped out at the table for a while, but we unfortunately couldn't stay for the bands.

Thursday: We were at Cafe Du Nord, where the line-up was The Dodos, Or, the Whale, Bodies of Water, and Willow Willow, a fun, sexy night of '70s-esque rockin'/folkin' guy/girl harmonies. The crowd was really nice, and three out of the four bands were too. Most of them had their own people watching their merch, and we were happy to handle their stuff here and there, in between selling the Noise Pop stuff. One band just assumed we would watch their stuff for the entire night, which was especially stressful when their merch started selling like hotcakes toward the end of the show. Not a please or thank you was uttered. but we don't think they were even aware of their rudeness, for what it's worth. LESSON: Bands, take your merch seriously, especially when lots of people want to buy it.

Friday: We took a break from volunteering and attended the Mountain Goats show at Bimbo's, accompanied by Jeffrey Lewis & the Jitters, Okay, and Aim Low Kid (disclosure: they're fronted by our spouse). It was another stellar night with a really happy crowd and happy and talented bands. We were thrilled to see the Mountain Goats live, and we are now even more enamored with John Darnielle. Behind his awkward storyteller persona, he is a charismatic and top-notch entertainer, and his drummer and bass player amazed us as well.

*MUSIC: Kelley Stoltz, Grand Archives, the Morning Benders, and le Weather Underground sing some songs for you over at the Independent. (Part of Noise Pop 2008.)

COMEDY: Get ready to hee yourself silly. Kenny Altman hosts Ron Vigh, Kelly McCarron, Maggie Newcomb, and Morgan Ryan Kasmier at "Gays and Dolls," a homosexually-charged night of stand-up hilarity. You can catch the queers killing it over at the Clubhouse. (BYOB, people. For reals.)

CLUB: New York-based DJ Satoshi Tomiie forces you to like house music all over again at Mighty. (Be sure to take a disco nap, kids. The party will go well into the wee hours of the morning.)

FILM: It's a Coen brothers blowout! The Depression Era adventure/ reimagining, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and that movie they did a few years ago with Billy Bob Thornton that we never got around to seeing, The Man Who Wasn't There, screen over at the Castro Theatre. (7pm and 9:10, respectively.)

*FILM: She Done Him Wrong (1933) screens at the Castro Tonight. What's is about? Well, according to CinemaSource, "Lady Lou works as a singer at the Gay Nineties saloon of Gus Jordan, who plays her with diamonds to keep her by his side. She runs afoul of stalwart Salvation Army captain Cummings, who warns her that she''s on the road to perdition. Though Lou herself steers clear of criminal activities, Gus Jordan runs a counterfeiting and white slavery ring. Also, Lou's ex-lover Chick Clark has been sent to jail for stealing diamonds for her. Things come to a boil when Chick breaks prison and goes gunning for Lou." But for all intents and purposes, it's that film where Mae West coos to Cary Grant, ""Why don't you come up some time and see me?" (Which was then changed to "...see me sometime" for her next movie, I'm No Angel.)

CLUB: Tonight's Noise Pop afterparty, intriguingly titled "Italians Do It Better In San Francisco," will be held at...Harlot. Why not? DJ Mike Simonetti spins tonight. We look forward to not remembering what happens tonight come tomorrow morning.

ART: Tonight's "Experimental Film & Video Art Series" over at Varnish Gallery, which happens on the last Wednesday of every month, features strong work by Bay Area women filmmakers. According to SF Weekly, "Terrie Samundra, known for her short film A Short Tale of Xuan; dreamy, glowing, impressionistic work by Vanessa Woods; and Jill Johnston-Price's animations are all curated by Scarlett Shepard, founder of the San Francisco Women's Film Festival." Yay! And you can get dunk off of some of the choicest wines in the Bay Area to boot.

*MUSIC: We've got two tastes for you tonight. First, aging rockers Queensrÿche perform at the Fillmore. They use an umlaut in their name, so you know they're hardcore. Too much? Then, how about award winning R&B songstress Veronica Klaus over at Enrico's? She's blusey and cabaret-y -- a stellar combo.

FILM: Richard Kelly's disastrous follow up to college campus favorite , Southland Tales -- a sprawling SoCal tale set over the course of three days ,ending in a massive 4th of July celebration -- screens tonight at the Red Vic. Read more about it here.

CLUB: Noise Pop kicks of the festivities with a some Mika Miko over at the Rickshaw Stop. Temponotempo also performs, and although it looks like a concert show, it's mainly a night infused and littered with local musicians and music writers, respectively. A big shmooz fest that's actually a lot of fun.

We instantly checked to see who was "headlining" the event and the six biggest names are: Jack Johnson, the Verve, Raconteurs, Portishead, Kraftwerk, Death Cab for Cutie, Roger Waters, Love and Rockets and My Morning Jacket. It doesn't seem as strong of a line-up compared to last year's line-up: Arcade Fire, Andrew Bird, The Decemberists, Amy Winehouse and of course, Bjork. (And we only named a few.) Is it as exciting? We're thinking, no. But, we were excited to see two local bands come up on the list: Rogue Wave and dredg.

Rogue Wave, an indie-rock band from Oakland, are performing on the first day of the festival, Friday, April 25th. They recently released their third album, "Asleep at Heaven's Gate" on Brushfire Records. (Their first two records were released on Subpop Records.) Zack Rogue, the lead singer and founder of the band, has been featured at Noise Pop 2006 where SFist Emily thought the male-pattern baldness seemed to plague half of the band members. (That sucks.) This doesn't deter these guys from rocking out.

Dredg (officially named "dredg" with a lower-case d) are originally from Los Gatos and have been together since 1996. They officially just came out of hibernation last fall with a performance at Great American Music Hall. (Did anyone go?) It looks like they will have some new music for Coachella.
