UC President Yudof 'Appalled' By UC Davis Pepper Spraying Students

After UC Davis police pepper sprayed students peacefully protesting the Occupy movement on Saturday, University of California President Mark Yudof announced plans to take immediate action against yesterday's aggressive, misguided dust-up. If you recall, some students refused to remove their tents from where they had made their camp on the quad, prompting school officials and police to use pepper spray at point-blank range in an effort to disperse a small group of linked-arm protesters. In response, Yudof plans on convening all 10 chancellors of the UC schools to review their protocols and policies. more ›

Video: Police Attack I-880 Takeover Protesters

The spirited folks over at Indybay.org bring our attention to this video, one that chronicles last week's I-880 protest that resulted in the temporary closure of I-880 by 'Day of Action' protesters. Carrying a bizarre (and unfocused) banner reading "We Have Decided Not To Die" and chanting about class war, the young and attractive kids walked out onto I-880, stopped traffic, and, well, sat down. more ›
