In a refreshing take on the traditional stand-and-bobble trinkets, the Pablo Sandoval edition depicts our favorite gum-chewing Third Baseman all laid out, Superhero-like in mid-air during a diving catch. Because comedic bits and facial hair proved more important this year than making it to the postseason -- yes, that's it, allow the bitterness to warm you like a Red Cross blanket -- the San Francisco Giants unveiled another bit of hilarity during Monday's game against San Diego (7-2). After hitting two home runs, Pablo Sandoval and his bat had a heart to heart in the dugout. We have no idea what he's saying, but we're glad the two maintain such a close relationship. Two Giants Players Switch Hotels After Ghost Scare
SF Weekly's Snitch blog and NBC Bay Area are reporting that Giants starters Pablo Sandoval and Edgar Renteria have checked out of the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, which is known to be haunted by the ghost of founder Charles Pfister and consequently isn't so popular with baseball players.

Under the impression third baseman Pablo Sandoval was David Archuleta, San Francisco Giants fans voted en masse to get him a spot in the All-Star game. Alas, it proved fruitless. But in the final stages of the vote, more fans went on the internet to have their say than ever before. Some even voted a hundred times. Even Mayor Gavin Newsom asked citizens to vote for Sandoval.
