Remember the great Youtube outage of 2006? Horribly, it seems to have returned. Can you access the site? We can't. Multiple theories are popping up -- generally, hackers or incompetent cyber-Mohammedans are getting the blame -- or perhaps Google itself is at fault? This may not be just affecting Youtube -- sites with embedded Youtube videos are predicting problems of their own. Worse yet, the issue is affecting users globally -- and has even impacted......

Ours was. And how. It would neither send nor receive email for hours. The horror. Hitting all carriers, it turns out the BlackBerry outage afflicted enterprise users across the United States and Canada today. And the "company has no estimate for when service will be restored." Read more about it here. (Our service seems to be working fine as of 5 p.m., btw.) You win, iPhone. You...you win.......

Since we're reportedly under the breeziness of "hurricane"-like winds, can we name the storm? If so, can we name it "Mary-Kate," then? Great. In addition to shutting down the Richmond Bridge, closing the ferries, screwing with the chi of (the) 101, and getting our demin damp, Mary-Kate has so far also caused over 518,000 residents in the Bay Area to lose power. (Including the Whole Foods on Fourth Street. Bah.) A PG&E spokesperson said......

We just received word that for the past two or three days (!?), 17th Street has been without power from at least Valencia up to Dolores. Anyone else have any word of this supposed outage? Seeing as how this is one attractive and expensive strip of real estate, right at the nexus of two neighborhoods, this is of the utmost importance. An SFister writes to us from the dark, telling us that 17th Street......
