Just after 6 p.m. this evening, a large tree limb hanging over Oak Street at Scott Street snapped off, crushing an Infiniti sedan, taking out a live electrical wire and blocking three lanes of traffic in the process. SFFD blocked all traffic on Oak Street at Divisadero, directing vehicles South on a detour through the Lower Haight. As you might expect, traffic on Oak was backed up well in to the panhandle. Anyone taking the major artery towards downtown would do well to avoid it for now. [Updates below] On the bright side, bicyclists headed to the Wiggle enjoyed a car-free block between Divisadero and Scott for a short time.
