As you know, the chef, travel writer and TV host has been in town this week shooting bits for his new show The Layover, which hits all the the must-eat and must-drink spots travelers need to see with only 24 or 48 hours in a given city. He may not have turned up at Zeitgeist (yet), but the vernacular foodie apparently found plenty of other spots to rush through as he ate and drank his way through town. And because this is 2011 and everything deserves to be immediately blogged, we can get a good picture of what this show is going to look like thanks to the miracle of social media and Tony Bourdain's own iPhone. Observe, there may be spoilers:

Anthony Bourdain Not Actually Coming to Zeitgeist's Renovated Patio [False Alarms]
In a brief update to the news that Anthony Bourdain would be filming a new show on Zeitgeist's now-lovely patio, the Valencia street beer gardeners write to their email list: "No Reservations will be taping at Zeitgeist on August 12th, between 1:30pm and 3pm." Now that you actually know when to arrive in order to get your beautiful, beer-swigging, chain-smoking face on the TV box, here's the bad news: "Anthony Bourdain will NOT be present for the taping."
Anthony Bourdain Coming to Zeitgeist's Renovated Patio
Noted carnivore, vernacular cuisine fan and TV personality Anthony Bourdain will be returning to San Francisco for another TV shoot next month. As the beergazers in the Mission noted yesterday, Zeitgeist spilled the beans about the August 12th filming in their email newsletter. But the shoot won't be another San Francisco episode of No Reservations - Bourdain is working on a new Travel Channel program called The Layover. (Get it? It's like the hangover, but for travel.)
Good Samaritan at 30,000 Feet
This past Thursday while we were en route from Denver to SFO, we were thoroughly enjoying the in-flight movie when screams suddenly broke out from the rear kitchen. Since we happened to be sitting in the very last row of the plane, we were especially caught off guard by the commotion and were forced to break focus from No Reservations (which was actually quite charming) to see what was going on.
