(By Micke Tong) SFist headed over to Bottom of the Hill last night for the first night of Noise Pop's 10th anniversary edition. Although we missed headliner Craig Finn and opener Ash Reiter, we were fortunate to catch Mount Moriah and Sad Baby Wolf.

The SFist Day-By-Day Guide To The 2012 Noise Pop Festival
The 20th anniversary edition of San Francisco's citywide celebration of independent music, art and film officially kicks off tomorrow, Tuesday, February 21st with two marquee events vying for your attention. With so many concerts and cultural events packed in to six nights across over a dozen different venues, this year's lineup can seem a little intimidating. So, without further ado, we bring you the quick and dirty SFist guide to Noise Pop 2012. Whether you're holding a badge and cabbing it to multiple venues in a night or just here for the free happy hours here's our list of highlights:
The Flaming Lips Added To NoisePop 2012 Lineup
This just in from the fine folks at NoisePop: noted alternative rock mainstays The Flaming Lips will join the 20th anniversary edition of San Francisco's citywide music festival for a special performance of 1999's critically-acclaimed The Soft Bulletin at Bimbo's 365 on Tuesday, February 21st. Joining Wayne Coyne & Co. for the performance which is sure to pack the small room at Bimbo's to the velvet curtains, will be Release the Sunbird, a fairly recent project from local indie rock Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave.
NoisePop Festival 2012 Lineup Announced
NoisePop, the city's all-over-town music festival announced the lineup for their 20th anniversary festival this afternoon and true to form it's ripe with NoisePop alumni, recent noisemakers and younger up-and-comers. Each Tuesday we will feature new music that should (or whatever) be on your radar.
SFist Reviews... Minipop & Kate Nash
It looks like several of you took our advice and joined us at the Kate Nash concert Saturday night. With lines almost around the corner, we thought, "Great, we'll be lucky to get a spot close enough to even see the stage." Looks were deceiving though - we entered and secured a spot on the second row (or so we thought).
