Pulp Plays The Warfield April 17 [Updated]
Adorable Britpop outfit Pulp will play The Warfield on April 17. The band confirmed this on their confusing website. Though excellent musicians with catchy tunes, their look spawned countless imitators. For example, every snotty music enthusiast enrolled at our Santa Cruz-based institution of higher learning dressed just like Jarvis Cocker. These people were the single worst kind to invite to parties because a) they would clog up the stairwell while their friends took artsy photos of them, and b) they wouldn't sleep with us. Anyway, Pulp, who recently announced their reunion, is coming to San Francisco.

Another Rad 49ers Anthem: Ashkon 'Niners In Paris'
Behold! Another choice anthem about the San Francisco 49ers, "Niners in Paris" by Ashkon. The song spreads tukhus-shaking grooviness to and for while giving it up for the Niners. According to D Wizzle's World, "Ashkon uses the popular Jay Z and Kanye West song 'Niggas in Paris' as the instrumental for the track." Delightful.
Afternoon Palate Cleanser: Joe Staley & Vernon Davis Sing Adele
Pause what you're doing and please enjoy as honey-throated 49ers O-lineman Joe Staley and soft-handed tight end Vernon Davis serenade you with their take on Adele's "Someone Like You". (The U.K.'s #1 karaoke song!) Cries of bandwagoneering and homoeroticism aside, this is just delightful.
Woman Assaulted, Robbed By Man She Met At Nightclub
Like a scene out of Sweet Charity, a 30-year-old woman was punched and robbed last night in the Mission after meeting what she thought was a nice man at a nightclub. SF Examiner breathlessly reports: "As they were walking, the faux Don Juan dipped his grubby mitts into the victim’s purse, police said. When she asked him what he was doing, he punched her in the face and ran off with the purse." The incident happened at Hidalgo Terrace and Dolores a little before 2:30 a.m.
The Mission's Force Of Habit Record Shop Closed, Getting Replaced By Restaurant [Updated]
Another small, independent record shop bites the dust. Force of Habit, the little punk shop at 3565 20th Street (at Lexington) appears to be on its way to closing as SFist finds that a new restaurant/café is moving in called 20 Spot. Force of Habit owner "Braindead" Dave Devereaux died last July at the age of 41 of unexplained causes. At the time, his family said they hoped to sell the shop and the online record business to someone who would keep it open, and a Save Force of Habit campaign launched to aid the effort. But it seems that was not meant to be.

With the 49ers on the weighing heavily on the hearts of San Franciscans and other Bay Area ilk, it's high time for a rousing musical interlude, yes? Yes. And who better to bring you a sporty song during playoff excitement than Bailey. We're sure most of you have heard the ditty already, but here's the video. Among other things, it features 49ers fans, Candlestick, beer, a shiny black Corvette with orange rims, and excellent shots of San Francisco. Enjoy.
