In a new effort at viral-video promotion for the new movie The Muppets, the gang has just put out this hilarious parody of the Saw franchise, featuring Piggy as that creepy doll and gonzo in chains. And we learn a new word: muppecide.

A Muppet-Themed Bar Arrives on Mission Street
On the Food and Cocktails beat today, the latest news from the Mission is the arrival of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem a new bar and pub-food joint from the guys responsible for Tonic, Rebel and Bullitt - another possibly trademark-infringing drinking hole. Where those other locations appeal to the Red Bull Vodka, Gay Cowboy, and Steve McQueen fans, respectively - "Mayhem" is going for a decidedly gonzo theme by naming the joint after the house band on The Muppet Show.
YBCA Celebrates 'Sesame Street' This October
Sesame Street recently turned 40, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is having a month-long celebration of the iconic show, featuring different programs each weekend at More Muppet™ Magic: Jim Henson's Legacy.
Tonight and tomorrow afternoon's screening features a "best-of" compilation, Sesame Street at 40: Milestones on the Street. The program includes excerpts from the first episode, celebrity guests, and some of the best bits from Ernie and Bert, Big Bird, Snuffy, and the rest of the gang.
Afternoon Palate Cleanser: The Muppets Do "Stand By Me"
Just in time for Easter, a dark little video from the Jim Henson folks featuring one of the lesser known Muppet monsters, and a bunch of bunnies. All we can say is YES! [via Laughing Squid]
Afternoon Palate Cleanser: "Beaker's Ballad"
Another stroke of genius from the Jim Henson people. And for those of you obsessed with your YouTube popularity (we're looking at you Sarah Austin), you should be able to relate.
Afternoon Palate Cleanser: Three Muppets Do "Carol of the Bells"
The Muppets have been up to all kinds of new web stuff lately -- like this revived "Bohemian Rhapsody" that we shared a few weeks back -- and now we have this delightful version of the classic "Carol of the Bells" performed by the Swedish Chef, Beaker, and Animal. For an alternate version, please refer to Destiny's Child's "Opera of the Bells" from a few years back.
Afternoon Palate Cleanser: An All-Muppet Version of "Bohemian Rhapsody"
This one's making the rounds today, as well it should. It's a brand new, all-muppet version of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," featuring 70 different Muppets and, our favorite, Animal asking for his mama. Cheers.
