Tis the season for muggers to return crucial pieces of identification to their victims. Take, for example, a Telegraph Hill mugging victim who has his wallet returned to him after sobbing during a mugging. SF Examiner reports, "The 29-year-old victim was robbed around 10:30 p.m. [Thursday night] as he was walking upstairs in his apartment building on Grant Avenue in Telegraph Hill. The crook, who had snuck inside, crept up behind him and demanded his stuff."

Suspect Sought In Mission District Sexual Assault, Beating
Police are on the hunt after an early Friday morning sexual assault and beating in San Francisco's Mission District. Sometime between 3 a.m, and 4 a.m., a man followed a woman walking on 24th Street from South Van Ness to Portreo Avenue. When he finally approached his victim, he demanded money. When she didn't give him any, he took her to another location. That's when things got ugly.
Three Female UC Berkeley Students Grabbed, Robbed
Berkeley police are looking for three suspects in the mugging and inappropriate touching of three female UC Berkeley students. The incident occurred on Monday night on Oxford Lane when a black SUV approached the women at around 8:15 p.m. The violence started when one of the men starting "grabbing the victims inappropriately." Man Pepper-Sprayed, Robbed During Muni Rush Hour
Speaking of vigilante justice (we kid!), two hooligans brutally robbed a man on Wednesday during the rush hour commute on the M-Ocean View. While sitting at his seat and using his iPad, a common occurrence on public transportation during these perfectly moderns days, he was pepper-sprayed and robbed.
Marijuana Mugging Outside S.F. Dispensary
Over on the 900 block of Geary Street, around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man was robbed of over a pound of medical marijuana while leaving a dispensary. (Presumably The Divinity Tree at 958 Geary.) "The victim, a 34-year-old man, was walking out of the dispensary when a suspect pointed a gun at his face and demanded 'weed,' " reports SF Appeal. "The victim handed over a satchel that contained 1.25 pounds of medical marijuana and cash."
Lady Knocked Unconscious During Hayes Valley Mugging
A 55-year-old woman was knocked unconscious on a little before 8 p.m. on Tuesday night during a mugging. Near Market and Laguna, the suspect approached the victim and knocked her to the ground, "at which point she said she passed out." After awakening, "her keys and cash were missing."
Man Mugged, Slashed On Mission Street By Old Man
A 27-year-old man was mugged and assaulted while walking along Mission between 16th and 17th Streets on Wednesday night. The victim "was walking along the street when a suspect approached and demanded his property. The suspect then took out a knife and slashed the victim in the side before taking his cellphone and cash and running away," reports SF Appeal.
Man Attacked in the Outer Mission for Wearing Wrong Shirt
A group of men attacked a fellow bar patron at a bar on the 5700 block of Mission Street for apparently sporting the wrong kind of fashion. "The 31-year-old victim was pulled outside of the bar by five suspects who apparently did not like his shirt," reports SF Appeal. "The suspects beat the man and also took his cellphone and cash before fleeing."
Bay Area Derby Girls Robbed at Gunpoint
Ugh. The Bay Area Derby Girls were recently robbed at gunpoint while some league members were carrying funds raised from a bout. The incident occurred in the Mission district outside after a game at the Craneway Pavilion on the Richmond Harbor. While no teammate was physically injured during the mugging, the 501(c)(3) and has volunteer-run roller derby group was hit hard financially. And, of course, emotionally.
SOMA Thief Beats Victim Using Baseball Bat
Well, this is horrendous: A 32-year-old man was robbed of his watch by a hooligan using a baseball bat as a weapon. While walking near the intersection of Fourth and Bryant on Wednesday, near Hotel Utah, the victim was hit on the head by the bat-wielding assailant. While crumbled on the ground, the attacker then reached down and removed the man's watch. The incident happened at around 10:40 p.m.
Early Tuesday Morning Muggings Hit Tenderloin
Two robberies were reported near each other and within five minutes of each other Tuesday morning in the Tenderloin. First, at about 4:25 a.m. at Golden Gate Avenue and Polk Street, A 70-year-old man was approached from behind by a guy who demanded his belongings. "The victim refused, and a second suspect pointed a gun at him and he eventually gave up the bag, along with his cellphone and wallet." Described as "black men in their 20s," the two men, along with a third, fled on foot.
Man Beaten By Large Group at Redwood City Caltrain
Security has been "amplified" at the Redwood City Caltrain station after a man was brutal beaten by a group of people on Friday night. "Between nine and 15 suspects attacked a 47-year-old San Jose man in an attempt to rob him at about 7:30 p.m.," reports KTVU. "The man, who was waiting for a southbound train, was beaten and left on the ground after the attack. No weapons were seen during the scuffle." Arrests Made In Pepper Spray Robbery Spree
Five arrests were made in connection with a series of recent pepper spray robberies in San Francisco. Jalil Leon Jones, 27, of Hayward, and Troyetta Carpenter, 18, of San Francisco, as well as three of other juvenile suspects were pinched for "suspicion of robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, probation violation, and possession of methamphetamine."

Police are investigating a series of robberies involving pepper spray throughout San Francisco. The first attack happened on the 200 block of Florida Street in the Mission District around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. "Two men grabbed a 41-year-old woman's cell phone, sprayed the chemical irritant in her face and kicked her before running away."
Police Seek Suspects In Series of Berkeley Armed Robberies
According to BCN (via CBS 5) three people have been mugged at gunpoint while meandering in the "northeast and north central part of Berkeley" the the last few weeks. Man Beaten Near 6th and Mission
On Monday morning, a 25-year-old man was brutally beaten near the city's notorious Sixth and Mission intersection. "One of the suspects brandished a chrome revolver, a non-firing replica, and demanded the victim's cell phone.," BCN (via SF Appeal) reports. "The victim refused. Both suspects proceeded to punch and kick the victim." Last night on the 2200 block of 18th Street, a man stabbed and then robbed a woman shortly before midnight. "Police said a 36-year-old woman was walking down the street when a male approached her from behind, stabbed her in the neck with a knife, and took her purse," said BCN, via SF Appeal. "He then fled."
Couple Brutally Attacked, Mugged While Visiting Coit Tower
Following a German tourist's fatal shooting near Union Square, another set of tourists faced danger while visiting a local hot spot. The Ex's Mike Aldax speaks: "A couple spending their second date at Coit Tower last weekend was viciously beaten and robbed by ruthless thugs in yet another act of violence at a tourism hotspot in San Francisco."
IRS Agent Shoots Alleged Mugger In S.F.
During a reported robbery attempt, an Internal Revenue Service special agent shot and wounded a man in Bayview during an attempted mugging. Police spokesman Sgt. Troy Dangerfield told BCN (via CBS 5) that "two suspects approached the agent and attempted a robbery. At some point the agent fired a gun at the suspects, hitting one in the torso...the wounded suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive." An IRS spokesperson confirms that the agent was on-duty at the time of the shooting.
Dolores Park Plays Host to Saturday Morning Robbery, Stabbing
Early Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m., an 40-year-old man was beaten, robbed and stabbed several times in the torso while walking near 19th and Church streets in Dolores Park. According to The Chronicle, "Police originally said that as many as a dozen people took part in the attack, but detectives determined Sunday that some were bystanders, [Officer Samson] Chan said. He said three men, aged 17, 18 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted murder."
Man Shot, Robbed In Mission District
On the 100 block of Tiffany Wednesday afternoon, a 38-year-old man was walking with his 13-year-old daughter when two men approached the father, pointed a gun at him and asked for the diamond-encrusted gold chain dangling around his neck. "The victim swiped at the gun and the suspect fired a shot, which grazed the victim's hand," reports BCN (via SF Appeal). "The victim's injury was not life-threatening." East Bay resident Ariel Morales was arrested and booked on suspicion of "robbery, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, various gun charges and resisting arrest."

Rifle Used In Mission Mugging
We gave you your sweet, now here's your sour: Yesterday a little before 6:30 p.m., according to Appeal, "two suspects, one reportedly armed with a rifle, are said to have robbed an undescribed victim at 23rd and York." No injuries, no arrests.
Mugging at 23rd & South Van Ness
According to reports, a mugging occurred in the city's boutique Mission district last night on Monday night. "A pedestrian at 23rd and South Van Ness says they were confronted by two men (described by the police as 'Hispanic males'), one armed with a handgun, who 'demanded his property' last night." Sacto Mayor Robbed In SF's Union Square
Well, this stinks. Former NBA player and current Mayor of Sacramento Kevin Johnson was mugged robbed over the weekend while acting like a Boy Scout in San Francisco's Union Square. NBC Bay Area reports "The former NBA player was in the City for a conference with representatives at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. He was helping an elderly man get into a cab near Union Square when someone sneaked up behind him and ripped of his garment bag that was holding a suit, shoes and some toiletries, his blog notes."
