Snapping the Parade

dragonhead.gif Hey photobloggers! Since you're bringing the digital camera downtown on Saturday anyways, don't forget to stop by and get some shots of the Chinese New Year Parade too! The parade starts at 5:30 at Second and Market, rain or shine, and goes until about 8. Lots of cute kids dressed up as emperors, dancing lions, the Centipede-like multi-man 201-foot dragon, and Miss Chinatown 2005 -- plenty of good material for your flickr account! They recommend getting to Chinatown no later than 5, but you can check out the street fair if you're there early. And just a friendly plug: we here at SFist love to show your work -- thanks again to Lackadaisical for the great shots of the Chinese Moon Festival he let us use last year -- so we welcome any and all pictures you want to send from your day! more ›

Bay Blogger Thursday

A long while back we had the pleasure of meeting Lucas of Lackadaisical at a little photoblogger gathering. We were there to pester folks to send us links to their photos so we could shamelessly reuse them, with only the promise of maybe a bit of traffic back to their site. Lucas has been nice enough to send us picks of Halloween in the Castro, the Moon Festival parade, and the Aeolian Ride. Lately he's been on something of a Muni kick, which is pretty sweet. Our publisher in Gotham was jealous of the trolley cabling Lucas framed in this photo. Click through and enjoy. more ›

Moondoggie

moonfest lion.jpg How was your weekend? SFist didn't run off and get married to a skanky backup dancer or anything, but we had some fun. Photoblogger Lackadaisical went to the Chinatown Moon Festival festivities and snapped some great shots of the day. Hope you guys had as good a weekend as we did. more ›
