We're calling it right now -- cancel your reservations at the midtown Manhattan Day's Inn, cuz' ain't gonna' be no Warriors representative at this year's NBA Lottery. After 12 years, THE STREAK IS OVER -- your Golden State Warriors will make the playoffs this year as the number eight seed in the Western Conference.

Unlike Monte Poole or Tim Kawakami, there is no "will they or won't they" coming from SFist. This is a done deal. Their season-long fever has broken just in time, and the Warriors now have only to avoid full-scale collapse and they will walk into the playoffs unchallenged.

-Stanford beating ASU has them thinking Big Dance. After a loss to Arizona, Cal is thinking NIT. -In a surprise to nobody, the 49ers released Antonio Bryant. They're supposedly all set to go after some free agent DEs, something to which Monte Poole says beware. -Barry Z and Russ Ortiz are sharp in the Giants first spring training game. Which means, yes, that somewhere on God's green earth, baseball is finally being played. -Tim Kawakami......

-It's official, Barry B. is now a Giant as he finally signed a contract. As for Barry's place in baseball, Monte Poole says baseball can go suck it....

-The Warriors miserable road trip continues as they lose to the miserable Atlanta Hawks. Even worse, they have the dreaded back-to-back game as they take on 'Melo and AI tonight against the Nuggets. Golden State of Mind is depressed but Bruce Jenkins says buck up, the Warriors could still make the playoffs. Monte Poole disagrees. ...

-In the biggest game of the year, the Warriors stepped up and beat on the Indiana Pacers with ex-Pacer Stephen Jackson leading the way. What does it all mean? ...

We were watching all the ESPN gab-fest shows yesterday and every single reporter on every single show ripped the Giants for all things Barry. We know it doesn't matter in the long run, but we do not like it when our favorite baseball team is ripped to shreds. Needless to say, the whole Barry thing is just leaving bad tastes all around. So much so, Magowan himself sent out a letter to all season ticket holders saying that mistakes were made in the past, but this time they really, really are trying harder but they really had no choice to do what they did. As El Lefty put it, the team’s slogan this year should be: Your 2007 San Francisco Giants: Savor the Grim Inevitability! ...
