John McCain is Dead

At least he is in this elaborate, spooktacular, very San Francisco Halloween display, found outside a Glen Park home. Curious, yes? But we think they should have added pantyhose to Palin's legs -- you know, to go with the strappy, open-toed shoes. Because you know she would wear them together.

But still: interesting display, Glen Parkers.

McCain VP Pick: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin

44-year-old former beauty queen and current Alaska Governor Sarah Palin wins the honor of being Republican Sen. John McCain's running mate. (It will not be, as was guessed yesterday, Tim Pawlenty.) A bit of background: Palin is the youngest and first female governor of Alaska -- a state that has a rape rate that is double the national average.

Palin is also under investigation for allegedly firing Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner because he refused to fire Mike Wooten, a state trooper, who is also her ex brother-in-law. (It seems he divorced Sarah Palin's sister, which prompted this mess.)

According to Wikipedia, Palin "hunts, eats moose burgers, ice fishes, rides snowmobiles, and owns a float plane." What's more, she "holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association" and has admitting to using "marijuana when it was legal in Alaska, but says that she did not like it." (Liar.) Oh, and she also wears pearls and has a kid with Down syndrome. So...there you go.

McCain VP Pick: Tim Pawlenty?

Looking to steal Obama's thunder, old man McCain, who is adorably running for Prez under the Republican ticket, has picked a VP running mate. One top guess, according to the Gate, is Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, who "abruptly canceled numerous public appearances" today. We shall see. And in related news, McCain allegedly claims says that his S&M buddies back in Nam were homosexuals. Huh.

Montag Supports McCain, Morgan Not Moved

The Hills' slut, Heidi Montag, has come out as a staunch supporter of Senator John McCain for Prez. While this has shocked (shocked!) Hollywood to its core, and some are saying it's a reverse-psychology-ish inside job, any refugee familiar with Laguna Beach (or Laguna Beach) wouldn't be surprised. That's how folks roll in OC.

For a real-life republican's insight, we went to our favorite blog/future drinking buddy to the right, former KSFO talk show host Melanie Morgan.

Huh? We are all supposed to care whether a Hollywood actress endorses McCain or not.
BTW, who IS Heidi Montag, and who watches "The Hills"?

Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to disparage a young Republican in the making.

I know it took some guts for her to come 'out' against the Liberal hegemony of Hollywood, but honestly! Americans can think for ourselves.

Oh, and political differences aside, we will continue to watch The Hills. Alas.
