"Neon Family Values" by Darwin Bell. (Yes, we know that we've mentioned the Union Square Louis Vuitton window once before. But, really, it's such a boss window display, so it deserves a second look.)

International Bear Rendezvous 2008
Starting this Thursday (Feb. 14) and going until next Monday (Feb 18) will be the International Bear Rendezvous, a yearly party for bears and bear lovers, sponsored by the Bears of San Francisco. What are bears, you ask? Bears are above-averagely hairy and/or fat men of the homosexual persuasion. Although considered a subset of the overall queer community, they were, arguably, quite popular for a brief moment in time, or so sayeth the holy word of Marc Jacobs.
Blocker: 1800 Union
We’ll start with the token blue-collar business.
Down toward the Laguna end of this block of Union, a red banner plastered on the home of plumbing/heating/appliance specialists A. Valente & Sons defiantly announces, We’re Here 100 Years – Get Used To It. One of its signature ramshackle red Ford pickups sits across the street, and the stubborn survival of such an unsophisticated enterprise along this, the Yankee Stadium of big-league boutiquery, gets us wondering: Will women’s fashion retailers BCBG Maxazria or Pavillion de Paris still be making sales here early in the 22nd century? Can Marc Jacobs handbags and Lennox heating systems forever co-exist on Union St.?
What's Up With The Guilfency?
Ha! We finally out-Googled everyone's favorite Newsom watcher, commenter ThatChick! Check out this picture we found of perennial SFist favorite, Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom Villency and her incipient child (due in about 2 weeks), from Monday the 11th at the Marc Jacobs show for Fashion Week. We'd've tried to get a larger version of the picture for you, but now we fear we may have accidentally downloaded this unsecured picture off a secure site, like an Angelides aide.
Are You a VIP?
Well, if you are, or just want to be, do we have the Craigslist job listing for you!
SFIndieFest: Scenesters and Mormons - One and the Same?
SFist was met with quite the scene as we approached The Castro Theatre last night for our first SF IndieFest screening, . The IndieFest dress code was apparently being enforced last night, with special dispensations made for Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford certified attire. We wish we had pictures, but you'll just have to trust us when we say that the beautiful people were shining bright.
