From Santa Clara County, the medical examiner's office reports that Shareef Allman, the gunman who opened fire on his coworkers at the Lehigh Cement Plant before leading authorities on a peninsula manhunt, died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Last week, the Santa Clara Sheriff's office originally reported Allman had been shot and killed by shot and killed by Sheriff's deputies.

Woman Sexually Assaulted in SFSU Dorm; Suspect Still at Large
Police are asking for help locating a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman inside a San Francisco State dorm. The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Friday, September 30. The woman, who was not an SFSU student, went on campus to attend a party at the Towers. Inside the lobby, she met a man who said he could take her to the party. Once inside the elevator, however, he grabbed her, wouldn't allow her leave, and took her to another floor and inside a room where he attacked her.
Shooting Suspect Shareff Allman Shot, Killed by Police
The manhunt for Shareff Allman, the man suspected of killing three of his colleagues on Wednesday morning at the Lehigh Cement Plant, ended this morning after authorities shot and killed the 45-year-old man. KTVU's Sal Castaneda reports, "KTVU confirms shooting suspect Shareef Allman has been shot and killed by police."
Workplace Shooting in Cupertino Leaves at Least Two Dead, Seven Wounded; Suspect at Large [Updated]
Gunfire broke out at an employee meeting at the Hanson Permanente Quarry in Cupertino this morning, killing two and leaving four wounded. KTVU reports, "The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department said an employee apparently became upset during a shift change meeting after 4 a.m., pulled out a weapon and opened fire at the company located near Stevens Creek Blvd. and Foothill."
Fremont Undercover Officer Shot In Oakland
A manhunt is underway for a felon who allegedly shot and wounded a Fremont undercover police officer outside a liquor store in Oakland this afternoon. According to Oakland Tribune, "After shooting the officer, the gunman fled to a liquor store in the 8600 block of Bancroft Avenue where he carjacked a car after shooting at the driver. The driver was apparently only hit by broken glass. The vehicle the gunman was in was last seen going westbound on Bancroft."
Four Police Officers Shot, Killed in East Oakland
A routine traffic stop in East Oakland on Saturday afternoon resulted in the violent shooting deaths of four police officers. According to reports, "a 26-year-old gunman shot two motorcycle officers after being pulled over at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, killing one and wounding the other." The gunman then quickly escaped the scene, hiding at a nearby apartment. After the police hunted down the assailant and broke into the apartment, "he shot two more officers with an assault rifle, killing them both, before he was shot dead by the police."
Manhunt: Search for Four Underway After SOMA Murder
After a fistfight on Sunday night at around 12:50 a.m, Frederick Marcelo was shot and killed in SOMA at Fifth and Clementina. According to SF fuzz talking head Sgt. Neville Gittens, the shooting took place after a physical fight between Marcelo and three other people. One of the guys shot Marcelo with a handgun, and then the three suspects hightailed it in "a small, black car driven by a fourth suspect." Arrests? None. SF murder count 2008? 55 (56?).
At Large: Contra Costa College Shooter
A manhunt is underway right now at Contra Costa College, searching for a man who shot a Contra Costa College student police cadet three times at close range a little before 1 p.m. today. "The victim was in critical condition when he was taken to John Muir Medical Center...[and] has since been stabilized and has gone into surgery," according to CBS 5.
