Since we've been doing a bunch of postings about our super-exciting congressional race, we'd love to come up with some clever title along the lines of "Everybody Hates Chris" but we are coming up with nothing. Sorry-- we're a little jet-lagged these days. Needless to say, we do have some Pelosi & Pals news today as the Washington Post has a big feature on some anti-lobbying bill she's been working on for awhile that could see the light of day if she does become Madame Speaker. Lots of bans on travel and gifts are involved and we'll see what happens the moment she does become Madame Speaker. Our guess is that it'll pass with loopholes a' plenty. more ›

Sports Basement at 16th and DeHaro is sponsoring a fundraiser for the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, which offers youth programs for low-income families. We simply walked right past the Luggage Store Gallery placard, and would've continued right on down Market Street if it weren't for the man selling cigarettes outside, who, noting our look of bewilderment, kindly directed us to the second floor space. The dark, joyfully graffiti and sticker-encrusted staircase led us to the burst of light that is the Luggage Store Gallery, notorious for its support of young, up-and-coming (or already-arrived) artists such as local favorites Chris Johanson, Barry McGee, and Keegan McHargue, all of whom have exhibited there in some capacity. more ›

SFist loves us some writers. And by writers, we mean "bombers," "graffitos," "vandals,", "artists," what have you. One in particular caught our eye on our travels around the city -- that inimitable man of mystery wielding grease pens, Neck Face. We've seen his tag from the Haight to the Mission and most everywhere in between. Then, last year, we started seeing it on the innerweb in places like New York, Boston, LA and Tokyo.
