Fallen OPD Officer to Get I-580 Honor

The California State Assembly introduced la bit of legislation, one that would "designate a portion of Interstate Highway 580 in unincorporated Alameda County as the Sgt. Daniel Sakai Memorial Highway in honor of the Oakland police officer who was slain in March, " according to reports. Conceived by Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi, D-Hayward, a strip of Highway 580 between East Castro Valley Boulevard and Strobridge Avenue. "By naming this section of Highway 580 after Sergeant Sakai, we have the opportunity to pay tribute to his courage, and forever be inspired by the heartfelt dedication and strong values he demonstrated throughout his life," said Hayashi. Sakai and three of his brethren, as most of you recall, were violently gunned down by Lovelle Mixon in March. After raping at least two women the day before and going on a murder spree, Mixon was, thankfully, in turn shot to death by OPD officers. more ›

Oakland Cop Killer Rapist Too

Lovelle Mixon, the Oakland cop killer who fatally shot four Oakland police officers and was, thankfully, brutally killed himself, also raped two women the day before he died, according to DNA evidence released on Monday. In addition to raping a 12-year-old girl in February, the former piece of human waste robbed and raped two women at gunpoint. The victims, according to SF Chronicle, were attacked by Mixon a little before 6 a.m. on March 21 "as they set up a cart from which they sold food to day laborers at High Street and International Boulevard."" Lovelle pulled a handgun on the women, ages 21 and 23, robbed them and forced them a to walk to 45th Avenue and San Leandro Street, where he raped them. This newest bit of info on Mixon, however, does little to comfort those affected by his unfortunate existence. Sgt. Dom Arotzarena, president of the Oakland Police Officers Association, said, "It doesn't change what happened. All it says is, to his supporters -- this is who you're supporting. Congratulations for supporting a monster. It doesn't really matter, though, because in the end, it doesn't bring the guys back." more ›

Enjoli Mixon, 24, the brother sister of the man who shot and killed four Oakland police offices being being gunned down, was arrested over the weekend for "being under the influence of a controlled substance," according to reports. This most recent brush with the law stems form a bench warrant for her arrest in Fremont in 2008. more ›

Lovelle Mixon Tied to Rape Case?

Lovelle Mixon, the Oakland resident who died last Saturday after murdering four Oakland police officers, is being hailed as a hero by some. But certainly not by the woman he (allegedly) raped prior to his timely death. According to Associated Press, Mixon was tied to a February rape. "DNA found at the scene of the rape was a probable match to Lovelle Mixon, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said Monday night." (Cue conspiracy theories!) In related news, the fourth Oakland officer shot by Mixon, 41-year-old John Hege, was finally taken off of support. He had been brain dead since last Saturday's shooting spree. more ›

New information is coming out about Lovelle Mixon, the man accused of shooting four Oakland police officers during a routine traffic stop Saturday afternoon. The Oakland parolee, according to SF Chronicle, "was a wanted man and deliberately skipped out on a meeting as part of a feud he was having with his parole agent." more ›
