Mark Zuckerberg And Priscilla Chan Expecting Second Child">

Zuckerdad is a daddy again and all I can say is "wow!" On his carefully managed Facebook page — a crafty mix of self-adulation, general PR, and business thoughts maintained by 12 employees — the Facebook CEO announced that his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan is expecting the couple's second child. Their first, a girl named Max, was born in 2015.

"Priscilla and I are happy to share we're expecting another baby girl!" Zuckerberg wrote this morning, while also alluding to several miscarriages Chan had experienced before having Max, about which she spoke publicly in an effort to address the stigma that too frequently surrounds them.

"After our difficult experience having Max, we weren't sure what to expect or whether we'd be able to have another child. When Priscilla and I first found out she was pregnant again, our first hope was that the child would be healthy. My next hope was that it would be a girl. I cannot think of a greater gift than having a sister and I'm so happy Max and our new child will have each other."

Indeed, Zuckerberg leads us to believe that he and Chan are having a girl on purpose to celebrate women. Extremely generous!

I grew up with three sisters and they taught me to learn from smart, strong women. They weren't just my sisters but some of my best friends. They've gone on to write books, excel at performance, music, sports, cooking and their careers. They showed me how to compete and still laugh together afterwards.

Priscilla grew up with two sisters and they taught her the importance of family, caring for others and hard work. They supported each other as first generation college students and in their careers in medicine and business. They have so many inside jokes -- the kind only siblings can understand.

We are all better people because of the strong women in our lives -- sisters, mothers and friends. We can't wait to welcome our new little one and do our best to raise another strong woman.

Mark is 100 percent right. Women are so cool, in fact, that you can't even have a male child without one.

I do have one worry: When baby Max was born, Zuck wrote her a long letter about her bright future and announced he and Chan would donate 99 percent of their Facebook stock, the equivalent of $45 billion at the time, to charity. That eventually went to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which is technically an LLC with a charitable focus. My question is, will Max's younger sister get equal treatment, or suffer the sad fate of most second children? I mean, what's Zuck gonna do for a grand gesture here — give away the remaining one percent of their stock?

I'd like to think there's a little bit of a hopeless romantic in all of us, but it turns out grand gestures may have gone the way of, well, last week's lunch. A recent marriage proposal picked up by Capp Street Crap appears to ask why shout your love from the rooftops when you can spray paint it on the side of a porta-potty — in this case by literally spray painting it on the side of a porta-potty.

"Maria Marry me," reads the silver paint on the side of the blue defecation-shed. "Move in. Fidel."

And while we assume Fidel isn't suggesting Maria move into the United-brand portable toilet with him, that he chose such a location to profess his love has got to be a bad sign for their blossoming romance. I mean, I guess he could have tagged the side of a funeral home, but there aren't too many worse options.

Either way, we wish Fidel and Maria the best. After all, Fidel didn't deliver an engagement ring via drone, which, really, would have been a truly shit move.

Has cupid struck this year? Or has he struck out? Well, depending on your particular level of commitment or lonesome despair, here are a few things you might enjoy doing this Valentine's Day. All events are on February 14th, which as fate would have it falls on a nice, low key Sunday. You could always just go to church, you know?

Taken: You and your significant other have been seeing each other for some time, so isn't it time you saw something else, like a nice view? Peruse this list of romantic destinations with views we've compiled for this and all similar occasions.

Taken and Naked: Enjoy some couple's nudity on Sunday at the spa with a Valentine's Day special. Archimedes Banya, which offers a love birds' special, are also among SFist's 11 best spas, a list you might want to consult in general for your spa day needs. Archimedes Banya, 748 Innes Avenue, Basic Passes start at $42

Somewhat Taken: Your best chance at taking this romance to the next level? Exactly! I was thinking the same thing! A Lady and the Tramp reenactment with spaghetti Sunday at Capo's, Tony Gemignani's Chicago pizza spot in North Beach. As you'll see, they're making it relatively affordable at just $50 with a glass of wine included. Capo's, 641 Vallejo Street, 5 - 10 p.m.

Uncomfortably Sober and Alone: We can fix half of this right away with SFist's list of the city's best dive bars. Tell 'em we sent you, and expect a gruff nod and/or a quizzical look. That's the sign we worked out with them in advance.

Decrepit and Alone: Consult SFist's list of the best old man bars. These spots, from Aunt Charlie's to Clooney's, are fit for old men of any age or gender.

Gay and Alone: Hosted by their softball team, SF Eagle's Valentine Beer Bust is sure to be anything but. The competition to find someone may be fierce, but in the end, most everyone at the Eagle is batting for the same team. SF Eagle, 398 12th Street, 3 - 6 p.m.

Alone with Popcorn: If all you need is a bit of darkness and some cool films, Indiefest is your knight in shining armor. Before today's Giants-Dodgers game, this cool couple stood before the eyes of God (and Willie Mays) to wed outside AT&T Park today. The bride wore a lovely gown and carried a gorgeous yet appropriately orange-tinted bouquet, while the groom sported a harlequin Giants-colored jacket.
Are you a "successful, busy professional with limited time to plan your romantic dates"? If you're somehow too busy to figure out where your favorite bar or restaurant is located or what to order once you're there, a new dating service called Datebook is for you.

The newly launched service is the brainchild of Melissa Edwards and Jessica Vasquez, who say it's "Marina girl approved". What a relief. They've set up their service to give men who can't be bothered to plan their dates the appearance of having made an effort, from restaurant reservations to gifts and flowers. "Dorky tech guys" and FiDi types are their target market, and 'You get all the credit' is their winky tagline.

Why can't that thoughtless lug you're trying to date do it himself? “Guys don’t plan or think ahead," Edwards told SF Magazine. "They’ll show up to a new restaurant without a reservation or take you somewhere generic like the Tipsy Pig.”

Well, this is a nice surprise, isn't it? A Bay to Breakers runner proposed to his girlfriend during Sunday's race. According to photographer Erik Wilson, who snapped the above pic, this was a real marriage proposal.

Did she say yes? Wilson reports, "It was a marriage proposal. She said yes and off they ran, hopefully to live happily ever after. Certainly not something I would do, but whatever works, I guess."

Indeed. Hey, cute couple, we have a few questions to ask you! If the mood should strike, contact brock@sfist.com.
Although unmanned aerial vehicles tend to be known for unleashing hellfire missiles on unsuspecting ground targets, earlier this month one local San Francisco man called in air support with a much gentler payload: an engagement ring for his fiancée.

The setup: former bachelor Jason tells pregnant bride-to-be Christina that the two of them should go to Alamo Square Park to take glamour shots in front the postcard vista preferred by tourists and misguided Full House fans. While shooting photos, the remote controlled aerial camera platform swoops in and, like, sort of surprises the mother of his daughter. Cute! Nerdy, but cute.

Earlier this month, Facebook employee JP pulled off a coordinated social media/real life stunt proposal by enlisting friends, coworkers and his Twitter-employee-girlfriend's Facebook stalking habits to successfully sneak up on her in Dolores Park and pop the question in front of friends, family and everyone on gay beach. Naturally, the whole thing has been documented for YouTube:

To briefly summarize the plan, after a day of wandering through the Dogpatch and Mission Districts of San Francisco, we found ourselves "unexpectedly" meeting our friends at Dolores Park. What the video doesn't capture is that immediately after I stepped away from the group, three of her coworkers bombed her phone with tweets telling her to watch a video. The rest is history.

The video is one-part Zero Dark Thirty and one part commercial for Facebook's (occasionally creepy) Social Search engine, but there's something about seeing a new bride-to-be have the everliving crap scared out of her by a boyfriend with a ring (on a nice day in the park, no less) that should warm up even the coldest spinster hearts. Newly engaged Genevieve even blogged about the most epic day of her life.

Epilogue: everyone goes for a big engagement party on the patio of Mission Bowling Club.

If you're single in the Bay Area this Valentine's Day, there's still hope that you're not a hopeless and unlovable human being. Maybe you're just living in the wrong neighborhood. To help those unattached (straight) folks across the Bay Area find the ideal location to land a potential mate, local real estate website Trulia mapped out the zipcodes with the best ratios of single men and women.

To come up with their map, Trulia looked at the ratio of men living alone to women living alone in the Bay Area. They also subtracted the gay and lesbian population and weeded out undesirable mates such as anyone over 65 (gross) and people with roommates (extra gross). What's left is this handy, heteronormative pink and blue color-coded map of "men and women interested in dating someone of the opposite sex." (Everyone else looking for love might try their Welcome to the Gayborhood piece from last year.)

The good news for bros in the Marina is the 94123 is apparently overflowing with single ladies with no roommates. Should those single ladies grow weary of their commitment-averse Marina neighbors, however, they might have a better chance of finding an emotionally available dude near the techy office buildings sprinkled around SoMa. Grain of salt with the data here though: While Trulia names the Tenderloin as the best place in the city for single women to find love, something tells us the Tenderloin is overflowing with single men living alone for different reasons than South Beach is. We can only guess that the blue spot in North Beach is a new concentration of beat poets, banging away lonely nights on their typewriters.

Dudes not interested in braving the singles scene in the Marina might as well just head out of the city to find a girlfriend. The MILF-friendly zipcodes in Marin and the far East Bay are apparently overflowing with single women. We knew Livermore was hot for a reason.

Hobson and Lucas met at a business conference about six years ago, and as they told Oprah last year, the relationship works because they're both "extraordinarily open-minded people."

Hobson is the president of her own investment firm, Ariel Investments, based in Chicago, and she's apparently been a longtime friend of Oprah. The couple appeared on her "Oprah's Next Chapter" show in January 2012, and the video of that is below.

As we discussed in the fall, Lucas just sold LucasFilm to Disney for $4 billion, so he's not exactly sweating it these days, and Hobson's done alright for herself over the years too, having been president of her firm since 2000.

Lucas has two adopted daughters and an adopted son, and was previously married to Marcia Lou Griffin from 1969 and 1983.

No word on where or when the two will wed.

22-year-old Evan Flanary, who "disappeared" on June 19 all because his mother couldn't reach him and he took a break from Facebook, turns out not really to have been missing. He was just having a passionate week-long romance in the way of 22-year-olds, with a broken cell phone that wouldn't take a charge.

The Chron and Flanary's mom are still calling the venue on which Flanary found his new boyfriend "a social-networking app." But since he's too twinky for Scruff we're going to go with Grindr, though we'll say OKCupid is also a possibility, since rather than spending a mere 30 minutes with his new paramour, he spent the better part of seven days (!) without managing to charge his cell phone or contact any of his friends or family.

A new Facebook post from Flanary's mom, Deborah Berlingeri, explains how he called her just as she was about to go on the air with another television interview, since the story had started to go national by yesterday. (National gay-news site Towleroad picked up the story yesterday, too.) Berlingeri sparked this local panic when she posted an attractive picture of Evan on the internet and had a missing-persons website built, insisting he was missing all because he hadn't been heard from in two days (as of June 21) and his phone was dead:

He was SO SO SO apologetic that he worried about us. He had met a person, they hit it off fabulously, they were down town enjoying all the week's festivities. The battery in his cell phone died and although he had a charger, it just wouldn't take the charge. He never noticed the flyers, but (Monday) he saw his image on a television screen and could NOT believe it. He called me just minutes before the KNTV interview was scheduled to begin, so instead of crying I was grinning like the village idiot!! I love that boy.

We like how she doesn't want to broadcast his sexuality, using the gender-non-specific pronouns, despite referring to "the week's [gay pride] festivities." As one friend succinctly put it: "Most embarrassing Grindr fail ever."

Emo Marina Dude Writes Angry Graffiti To Ex-Girlfriend

Rare is the Marina man (we're going to assume these were penned by a dude) who can bare his soul. Rare is the Marina man (we're going to assume these were penned by a dude) who can bare his soul. But this guy did.
