Surfer, skateboarder, artist, and occasional Paul Frank designer Thomas Campbell has a new show. This one, it seems, highlights his brand-spanking new work, which he describes as "surf-centric doodles, sculpture, photos, and sewn stuff." Raised as an Orange County "punk," he started out on the scene as part of the "bicoastal movement of street-smart artists who take their cues from underground culture." His rustically genuine work isn't featured here in SF nearly enough, so it's a great chance for both virgins and worshipers of his work to head on out to the Outer Sunset this Friday night to see just why Campbell is one of the most important voices to emerge out of California in decades.

Almost forgot -- alternative-jazz group Mattson 2 will also perform. And we hear beer will be available to squelch your sobriety. Yay!
