There is actually one team in the area that is playing well and that is your San Jose Sharks. For that, we turn to Sharks' correspondant Ian to get the latest...

Our hockey correspondant, Ian, returns to discuss the slow starting Sharks After getting bounced last spring by the Detroit Red Wings for another second round playoff collapse, the refrain from the Sharks brass, coaches, and players during the off- and pre-season has been: consistency and resiliency. With twelve games under their belts in this young season, the San Jose Sharks currently sit atop the decidedly mediocre Pacific division, and unfortunately have shown many of the......

Some of you just can't get enough Gavvy Gav -- Berkleyist finds a picture of him and Sofia Milos (Newsom?) by Luke Thomas. Us, we can't get enough MC Hammer! This may be SFist, but we Hella Heart Oakland. Lots of other new blogs of note. Jon Swenson says Phil Zajicek is blogging his Tour of California ride. And just in time for spring training, El Lefty Malo finds a new Giants blog, Giants......

Sasha dishes the news about TechConnect -- RFP deadline went by without so much as a press conference. Big news is that Google and Earthlink have teamed up, and that Houston's recent WiFi RFP was made public (The City threatened to sue when theirs was leaked). Francisco De Costa claims a victory after the public forum on Bayview redevelopment. San Jose Inside's Single Gal takes a look at the six folks who want Ron......

1115.org weighs in with their analysis of last night's State of the State, and Capitol Notes' John Meyer takes folks behind the scenes. SF CityScape has high hopes for The City's promotion of interim Planning Director Dean Macris to a permanent post. And San Jose decides they want a city wifi network, too. Many Friends of SFist are down in Las Vegas this week, some at CES, some at AVN, most probably going both......

Tom Foremski defends his opinion that bloggers, and not Bono, Bill and Melinda, should have gotten Time's recent Person of the Year cover. Om Malik realizes that GigaOm's content is being ripped-off, and wonders what he can do about it -- we see this kind of crap all the time, and hope that there's an especially hot place in the afterlife for the perpetrators. Eric Rice gives a video camera to a five year......

Let's get the tech out of the way first: John Hoar finds an article discussing the potential legal liabilities of Tech Connect. Could Susan Mernit and Chris Lopez be talking about the same thing -- namely, a Knight Ridder-Google merger? And if you needed any more evidence that Apple is selling sex more than tech, see what you come up with analyzing Jessie Johnson's dream. Kevin Cheng can finally talk about his latest project......

John Vanderslice. Helllooooo...over here...brought to you by SFist. Oh, wait, we don't need to act cool, we've got plenty of readers (thanks for asking). We love them because they love to argue over breasticles! Not only do we bring it with the 'get' local interviews, we bring you news you can use. Please. For everyone's sake. We'd like to think that BarCamp was like a little Burning Man if, um, it was in downtown......

Well, ever since we saw Danica Patrick finish fourth at Indy, we've been smitten. The story has everything SFist could ask for -- incredibly fast cars, high technology, controversy and a woman in a man's world. Doesn't hurt that she's kind of super-cute. The controversy, of course, is that she's dozens of pounds lighter than many of the other top drivers -- she's rather petit at around 100 pounds, which means quicker acceleration (lower......

Yesterday was a big day for race fans of both the four-wheeled variety and the two-legged variety. First, the Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose finished up a wild weekend with Sebastien Bourdais winning in the Champ Car race and Katherine Legge winning the Toyota Atlantic race -- from blogs to formula one racing, it was a big weekend for the XX-chromosome set in the South Bay! PJ over at the Shark's Page......
