Challah! Whether hard or soft opening (ew), Wise Sons is sorta, but pretty much open for business starting today. We're being told it's a "soft" opening, so you might want to give them a call beforehand to make certain-certain that they're open before heading over to quell your bialy fix this weekend, but, whatever, they're totally open. While the grand opening will be on the 22nd, but you can absolutely still get some grub in the meantime.

Gov. Brown Signs Bill to Block Circumcision Bans
Citing anti-freedom of religion sentiment, Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill over the weekend blocking any and all circumcision bans in the state of California. Assembly bill 768, penned in response to San Francisco's controversial (and, admittedly, somewhat misguided) failed circumcision ban, will bar citizens from impinging upon Jewish and Muslim rituals involving foreskin snipping -- religious acts that some have decried as male genitalia mutilation.

The Chronicle reports: "The app let users consult a database of celebrities and public figures to determine if they are Jewish or not. Its removal follows a complaint from a French anti-racism group that threatened to sue the iPhone and iPad maker."

Jewish Organizations Under Fire
group-supporting-protests-makes/">Bay Citizen reports, local Jewish organizations like Oakland’s Jewish Voice for Peace, have drawn scrutiny both locally and worldwide for expressing hope that Egypt's push for democracy could shift Middle Eastern politics---including ending Israel's occupation of Palestine. by Amy Crocker
It's the last day of Passover so today's lunch is all about using up the matzo and distracting yourself until sundown. Today's lunch is therefore not only a meal, but an activity. We will be making Matzo Houses - think of them as Gingerbread Houses, but with matzo. And instead of using frosting for the glue, use peanut butter. Cream cheese is also...
Sad Kosher Lunch of the Day: Gefilte Fish Kabobs
by Amy Crocker
Today’s Kosher Lunch deals with a tough subject: gefilte fish. White fish mixed with matzo meal and served cold from a jar, gefilte fish has a very strong fish taste. by Amy Crocker
Gather ye pastries, breads, and crackers while ye may

TV Stations Find Michael Savage Ad Too Offensive
Performance artist and controversial radio host Michael Savage is screeching mad at local SF television stations. It seems, according to Rich Lieberman, some of them are refusing to air a spot he shot for his XTRA Sports 860 AM local radio affiliate, all because of his use of the term "schmuck." For the goyim out there who don't know what a "schmuck" is, it's a pejorative Yiddish term for the penis, which has trickled down in meaning to fool. Watch the tepid in in question here.
