Dave Eggers and Vendela Vita are rumored to have reproduced, and to have named the girl October Eggers Vida. We're thinking that the sound of an oompah band or sight of lederhosen will make her reach for a xanax later in life. In other literary news, check out this response to a craiglist job listing. Adaptive Path's Fourth Anniversary Party
Last night SFist was invited to join the revellers at Adaptive Path's offices on Brannan between second and third. Not having been known to turn down free beer and food, we showed up promptly at six. We were especially excited about the prospects of the rented taco truck doing the catering. If you doubted the genius of Lane Becker, Janice Fraser, Jeff Veen, Peter Merholtz, Jesse James Garrett and Indi Young, the catering decision alone should dispell many of your doubts.
Muni Photography Ban: Update
To follow up on our previous story, we're not sure whether the Muni photography ban is the biggest threat to our personal freedom, but we have a feeling that if we don't blow this all a little out of proportion, it will probably be ignored. Civil liberties in our country seem to be dying a death by inches, and what worries us more than simply having a rule banning photography on Muni station platforms is that it is being enforced without having been publicly reviewed or even codified in a legal document. Secret laws selectively enforced is not our idea of Democracy.
Creative Commonists
It's good to be a nerd. At least that's how SFist feels after hanging out at the Swedish American Hall, taking full advantage of the open bar, nodding our head to the DJ's beats, nibbling on tidbits from the trays of finger food and stuffing our bag with schwag at the Creative Commons party last night. Intellectual property lawyers sure know how to party!
