With all that went down this week, we thought we thought we'd cheer everyone up by giving everyone a double dose of dogs.

Valentine's Day is only a few days away, and we here across the Gothamist network wanted to express would like to tell you, in the spirit of the holiday, just how much we love you, our readers. Don't let it get to your heads, though. There are plenty of things we love, you included. Just be glad you're not amongst the things we hate.

He's in New York! Tuesday he took off to the Big Apple to attend a three day event for the Clinton Global Initiative conference. That's Clinton as in Bill Clinton, not George Clinton. The Clinton Global Initiative is some big huge three day conference in which various political and governmental big wigs gather to discuss the environment and helping the poor people and Africa and all that stuff that George Clooney and Angelina Jolie talk about.

For fear of catching metal, we are not one to get involved in the whole East Coast – West Coast rivalry thing, but we would like to point out one big difference between dog friendly San Francisco and, uh, well, much less dog friendly New York. In San Francisco we can take our dogs wine tasting on the weekend. In New York, the latest fashion for the canine crowd is rubber boots. This is not an accessory; this is a necessity, as the streets of New York are alive with random electrical currents that are shocking dogs to death.
