What's the Score, Boys? What Did Bugs Bunny Do? What's With the Carrot League Baseball Today?

Indians 7 A's 2- The Indians ended the A's four game winning streak by routing Dan Haren. Haren's been pitching really well, but he's been hit hard by the Tribe in his career. In May, he gave up five runs in 5 2/3 innings and last night he gave up seven runs in 4 2/3. Overall, he has a 6.45 career ERA against them. The Angels didn't play, however, so the magic number remains at 7. The A's also play the Angels at home this weekend so if there's ever a time to do some jumping around and celebrating, it'll be this weekend. more ›

A's Brand Baseball: Down The Stretch They Go

In May, while the A's struggled along 8 1/2 games behind Los Los Angeles Angeles de Anaheim Anaheim in the American League West, A's Brand Baseball promised not to mention the division standings any more until school started in the fall. A Theater Near You

A Theater Near You

In the past decade, the closing of many of the small, single-screen movie theaters has been a serious blow to SF's neighborhoods--not to mention those folks who feel nauseous at the thought of the multiplex. It's not all bad news, though: In May, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to make the New Mission Theatre - once the largest movie theater on the West Coast - a city landmark; its new owner, Gus Murad & Associates, has indicated a willingness to preserve the theater as part of the redevelopment plans. more ›
