If the sun is shining a bit brighter and the birds are chirping a bit chirpier it could only be because today is a big day-- as of this posting, our little Nancy is officially now the Queen. In fact, her little "First 100 Hours" plan is now on the clock. How excited is she? She's been throwing herself four days of parties in celebration of it, all to be later shown in an episode of C-Span's "My Sweet Inauguration Party." In a stab at snarkiness, the NY Times even refered to it all as a "Pelosi-Palooza." And the fact some of those parties could raise a little money for her and her party, well, that's just a happy little coincidence. ...

We laughed so hard watching those Revenge of Crazy Crab and KTVU Mike Litoris clips this weekend that we immediately decided we finally had to get out from behind the curve and finally go check out this YouTube thing everyone's so into these days. Well, it's April 19, 2006, and the goodwill created by celebrating disaster rising above disaster has now officially dissipated. The Chronicle reports that numerous public officials are disgruntled at various protocol lapses that left them feeling insufficiently fawned over at the big 4:30 a.m. party.

There was predawn political infighting because some elected officials weren't offered a coveted spot on stage, an awkward moment when the master of ceremonies called into the audience to locate former Mayor Willie Brown even though he was standing not far behind her, and what should have been a memorable finale with the crowd singing a roaring rendition of "San Francisco" puttered out because many didn't know the lyrics.

You know the organizing principle at team SFist is always: what about the children? So yeah, bummer for Julie Lee about getting indicted for grand theft over the tattered remains of Kevin Shelley's career, huh, as ably reported by the Chron. But -- what about Julie's son? Andrew Lee! A.k.a. Drew Nasty! How will he cope? What will he do? Drew's had a tough go of things since all the smack came down on his mother. He lost his job with Kevin Shelley (he blew his back out lifting "very heavy voter information guides"). He dropped out of law school. The Inc. doesn't seem very interested in picking up his Fiona Ma-produced R&B single. His band C-Quence isn't playing gigs anymore. Sure, he sang "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" at a fundraiser last week, but how many more gigs like that is our crooner going to have now that Mom's fighting to stay out of the slammer? And was there a rap interlude in the middle? Julie Lee's refusing to comment on any of this, calling it all "Westerner gossip" (Gourmet de l'Ouest, watch that mouth!), but we're worried sick about Andrew! How's your neck holding up, guy?
