Do you know this man? Police are seeking help in identifying a man who was discovered with severe head injuries in Union Square around 5 a.m. Saturday morning. According to San Francisco General Hospital spokeswoman Rachael Kagan, the man is still unconscious and in critical condition after sustaining injuries that are suggestive of a fall.

The man was discovered with no wallet, but he did have a Jeep key and a silver house key on him. He is described by Kagan as somewhere between 30 and 40 years old, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and no tattoos or distinguishing marks, said Kagan, who reports that he was wearing Levis jeans, black leather shoes, and no shirt when he arrived at the hospital.

If you recognize him or have knowledge about what happened, contact the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department at (415) 206-8063. And stay safe out there, folks.

The medical examiner's office identified the man killed in yesterday's bike accident as 21-year-old Dylan Mitchell. The fatal incident, if you recall, happened on Thursday morning at the intersection of 16th Street and South Van Ness in the city's Mission neighborhood. A garbage truck struck Mitchell, dragging him several yards.

The victim died at the scene.

"Mitchell, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with the rear of the truck. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene," according to SF Appeal. "The driver of the truck eventually stopped at the scene after the mangled white bicycle ended up a block away along a curb on 17th Street."

The garbage truck company, Recology, issued a statement to the family offering their condolences.

After Thursday's natural gas explosion and massive fire that, if you will, put San Bruno on the map, four people are confirmed dead. Three of the four deceased have been identified: a mother and daughter team, 44-year-old Jacqueline Greig and 13-year-old Janessa Greig, were killed during the blaze.

"[Jacqueline] Greig worked for the California Public Utilities Commission for 21 years and was a member of its Division of Ratepayer Advocates," reports the Chronicle. "She also was listed as a member of the natural gas committee on the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates."

Also killed was Jessica Morales, 20, of San Bruno, who died inside her boyfriend's home. Her boyfriend, Joseph Ruigomez, a 19-year-old Skyline College student, stayed inside the burning house, "desperately trying to save Morales," before being forced to evacuate.

The coroner has not yet identified the fourth fire victim. In addition to lives lost, a final number of 37 homes were destroyed during the inferno.

These (hopefully adorable) new cards can be used by anyone here, it seems -- U.S. resident or not. Tommy Ammiano introduced the legislation, which, according to the Chronicle, "would require companies holding city contracts to accept the municipal card as a legitimate form of identification." (So does that mean they can be used to get into bars? Sweet.)

Ammiano also claims that these cards would help people "living on the social margins" cross the velvet rope into such exclusivity as getting their own bank accounts, as well as feeling more comfortable about calling the police if they, or someone else, needs help.

Eh, sounds like a good idea. The anti-immigration rhetoric as of late comes across like an attempt to close Pandora's Box, etcetera, etcetera, and so forth. (Okay, bad reference -- how about, an attempt to un-ring a bell? to catch a moonbeam in its hand?) We'll get one of the new IDs, but only if it's pretty, sparkly, and comes with funky graphics; otherwise, we'll stick to our driver's license.

Oh, and Supervisor Sean Elsbernd was the only one to vote against the ID legislation. So...there you go.
