Police and lookiloos are wondering why a woman drover her black Lexus into the waters at Ocean Beach. The unidentified female apparently drove through a parking spot, the beach entrance, and down the sand into the ocean. According to SFGate, "Firefighters arrived on scene around 6:30 a.m. and found the woman sitting in her partially submerged car near Lincoln Way. Rescuers waded into the water and pulled the woman out."

Authorities will wait until low tide to pull the vehicle out. We will update as soon as we know more about the woman's condition.

Update: The woman survived what was, it seems, an intentional, desperate act. We wish her a speedy recovery.

“Word up” to local advice columnist, Chuck Nevius, for turning us on to the latest unsavory scandal to erupt like wildfire through the normally buttoned-down Tenderloin District. It would appear that Mike Powers, the Mickey Rourke-in-a-hearing-aid looking owner of The Power Exchange, has found the perfect new location for his sexy naked time club - immediately next door to a school for poor, refugee orphan children. Only in San Francisco? Only in Poland.

Of course, the sudden invasion of encounter-seeking ladies and gentlemen (ew!) has apparently resulted in herds of traumatized, burlap sack-clad children wandering the Tenderloin in a confused daze:

"There are 3,500 kids in this community," said Marie-France Ladine, principal of the burdened school, the San Francisco City Academy. "They're poor, they're scared, and a lot of them don't speak English. They have no voice."

Got it. Children. Who will think of them if not us. So on, so forth. Whatever. If only we had all voted in favor of giant digital billboards on Market Street, then there would be plenty of American dollars for arts and crafts to divert the poor Tenderloin children's attention away from the non-stop cavalcade of tits and ass that marches through their neighborhood. But we digress.

SF Sex Club To Hopefully Re-Open Soon

Power Exchange, the 13-year-old sex club formerly located at <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&...

SF News

gentrification

hysteria

mission

nimby

power exchange

sex club

sex panic

Brock Keeling

Power Exchange, the 13-year-old sex club formerly located at 72 Otis that shutdown last year due to financial difficulties, wanted to open again, this time at 44 Gough. All was going according to plan, until one perturbed citizen, Lisa Dunmeyer, a Brady Street resident, put the kibosh on the popular humping space. It seems that said sex club (allegedly) attracted an unsavory crowd, one that would embarrass her in front of her guests. "When she had friends over," reports Mission Local, "they couldn’t believe the action. Cars circled the block blasting music, and prostitutes walked up and down the street."

It was almost as if Dunmeyer was living in some sort of urban metropolitan area. Shudder.

Anyway, after spamming the neighborhood with "Did you know that a large sex club is opening in your neighborhood?" flyers, resulting in a high volume of calls to the San Francisco Planning Department, the club's re-opening was over before it began.

But fear not, sex club enthusiasts! Power Exchange co-owner Mike Powers tells SFGate, "I have an architect . . . [who] is VERY informed as to the unusual code enforcement activity against me. The Planning Department has its head in its posterior, DEEP, and doesn't know its own code." He goes on to say the club will open in about a month or so at a location TBA.

What's Going On Here, Carole Migden?

Yikes.

SF News

Carole Migden

employment

hysteria

SF Politics

sexism

stress

Brock Keeling

Yikes.

After Carole Migden was heard "berating" her Capitol staff yesterday, they were told to stay home today. Egads, right? According to Sacto Bee:

Enedina Hidalgo, the director of personnel for the state Senate, overheard Migden screaming, according to a witness to the event. The source said she entered the office while the senator was not present on Thursday, informing the staff of their rights.

Soon after, Hidalgo returned to Migden's office with Tony Beard Jr., the chief sergeant-at-arms of the state Senate. They told the staff to pack up their belongings and escorted them out of the building, the witness said.

Dude.

Carole, of course, denies that her staff was sent home. The infamously "brusque" Sen. declined further comment.

If you recall, Migden lost a three-way Democratic race to Mark Leno earlier this year. Was that the cause of her alleged hysteria? We're dying to know what she was screaming about this time. Oh, that Carole.

Moving On Up: Misfiled Hysteria Over SFGate Comments In the Tips Section Moved

Things are getting prickly over in the anonymous tips section -- which, as you all well know, should be reserved for delicious tidbits of info only -- so...

SF News

censorship

comments

hysteria

sfgate

tips

Brock Keeling

Things are getting prickly over in the anonymous tips section -- which, as you all well know, should be reserved for delicious tidbits of info only -- so we moved the discussion over here.
