A high surf advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Bay Area beaches. According to BCN (via SF Appeal), "Residents are advised to be cautious along the coast and to be aware of local ocean conditions, which could include rip currents and beach erosion." The warning is expected to last until 9 pm. Oh, and it's going to rain for most of this week. Boo.

Man Swept Out to Sea in Humboldt County
The Coast Guard called off the search for a man swept to sea in Humboldt County. He had been walking on the shore north of Trinidad with two companions. All three were pulled into the waves, but the two others were able to make it back to shore. This, in addition to the women disappearing from Point Reyes and people falling off cliffs in Pacifica should be warning enough that this is a bad time to be strolling the coast. [Amy Crocker]

Oh fun. The National Weather Service has issued a totally tubular high surf advisory, which starts Tuesday night "due to an incoming swell that is expected to create waves up to 20 feet high." Can you say, bitchin'?
High Surf Advisory Issued for Bay Area
Although this image looks tempting, NorCal surfers/sailors, the National Weather Service issued a high surf advisory today for Bay Area beaches. The advisory goes into effect from 10 a.m. to to 4 a.m. Saturday.
High Surf Advisory In Effect Today
Between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. today, a high surf advisory is in effect for the Bay Area coast. This, according to Appeal/BCN, is "due to a forecast of swells of up to 15 feet between Sonoma and Monterey counties."
