You know, we're kind of getting into the week-long series that the Chron's doing on the San Francisco school system. It's a comprehensive look at all the various factors affecting the perception of our local schools: segregation controversies; why people flee to the East Bay once their kids hit school age; how the school system is actually doing much better than everyone thinks it is; and how the lottery actually works. Tomorrow they're discussing private schools in the area, and then funding, and then (what we're definitely looking forward to), "the politics." Switchblades out, school board! (hey, whatever happened to Heather Hiles, anyways?)

Political Junkie: Puttin' the F back in SF
We've been dying to use that title for weeks now!) All of you who make that trendy organic soap, sales should be skyrocketing through your thatched roofs with all the mouth-washing-out that's underway in our fair city! First, Heather Hiles, then Chris Daly, then H. Brown, and then Chris Daly again! Oh, our tender ears!
In our most recent foray into asterisk-land, remember Daly's performance at the two-unit TIC land use committee meeting last week? Well, the "f*** off" outburst to the members of the public in attendance at the meeting has prompted Michaela Alioto-Pier to propose a censure motion against Daly.
Political Junkie: Number Crunching
Now, SFist and your Political Junkie are not really statisticians, but the preliminary data coming in from the RCV reports compiled by the Center for Voting and Democracy yield some pretty interesting results, as reported by the Examiner's Adriel Hampton.
You Kiss Your Mother With That Mouth?
San Francisco rejects Cheney's politics but continues to embraces his sunny demeanor in the face of conflict, with the school board issuing a reprimand at its meeting tonight over the pottymouth outburst at last week's meeting.
Going Cheney at the School Board
The SF school board, never known for its collegial atmosphere, reached new Dick Cheney levels of incivility at last Wednesday's meeting (.pdf agenda), where school board member Heather Hiles (at left) dropped the f-bomb on her fellow school board member Mark Sanchez (at right).
