After Carole Migden won the endorsement of the Harvey Milk Club, things were looking grim for Assemblyman Mark Leno. But today Gavin Newsom shined his megawatt charm over in Leno's direction today, endorsing his bid for a state Senate seat. According to the B.A.R., " Newsom [is] expected to publicly endorse Leno Wednesday night at the Herbst Theatre during a special screening of Pursuit of Equality..." Leno is trying to dethrone state Senator Carole......

Remember the bedlam over at that local homo political clique last year? You know, that time when Carole Migden (D-San Francisco) "stole" the vote from Mark Leno? And then gay-on-gay hair-pulling violence erupted? Well, it looks like the vote for Carole is going to stick. Now that Rafael Mandelman has been elected president of the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club, the lcoal group, according to the B.A.R., "is Carole Migden's club." And that, it......

Cris takes some time off the Bonds case to support her lady. No one pulled out a bitch's clump of hair. That's the big news. Oh, and some other stuff happened, ahem: The Club's membership voted tonight on the February 2008 ballot and the June 2008 State Senate primary, and the endorsements are... Prop 92 (Community College Funding) - Yes Props 94 - 97 (Gaming Compacts) - No Prop A (Neighborhood Parks Bond) -......

It's back on, folks. The Harvey Milk Club endorsement vote happens tomorrow. Again. If you remember their last meeting, voting members caught the vapors, pulled out clumps of their own hair, ran around in circles, cried -- fun hysteria like that. Ever since that childish display of local politicking, all sides have been more or less civil and relatively respectful of one another. It goes without say how disappointed we are in both sides.......

Even though we're too vile to appear on screen in a film about his life, legacy, and popper sniffing -- no, we will not let it go, but thank you for asking -- we will honor the guy who was once known as the Mayor of Castro Street: former San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk. Sure, some of the Castro's sex shops have removed phallic symbols from their storefront windows in order to protect the......

The airtight smiles. Awesome. For those of you somehow not tempted into becoming a part of Van Santian art -- or, you know, if you sport a vagina -- might we suggest catching round II of the Leno vs. Migden smackdown? Sponsored by the Harvey Milk Club, this meeting is sure to ruffle a few plumes and have local politicos affectedly scratching their chins for days to come. That's right, kids, it's on. It is......

Migden, Leno, Peskin, Daly, Herrera all were on the scene at one point or another, and tempers flared. Why? Because Carole Migden stole the show (along with a hefty endorsement) at last night's Harvey Milk Club meeting. ...

Harvey Milk Club President Brian Basinger addressed the crowd at today's rally in the Castro. Supervisor Aaron Peskin, Senator Carole Migden, and Supervisor Bevan Dufty also spoke out to support Prop A and oppose Prop H. Sadly, and to the best of our knowledge, Mecke wasn't there, thus no sun-kissed shots of Quintin. For more info, visit Transit Not Traffic. Image credit: anonymous......

Dan Gillmor bows out of Bayosphere in Businessweek -- reactions from JD Lasica, Jonas Luster and Thomas Hawk. Blogger Tom Foremski says he's doing just fine, claiming to be more popular with PR folks than the Wall Street Journal's Walter Mossberg. Hey, at least no one has had to resort to astroblogging (astroturfing + blogging, natch). John Paczkowski is afraid, very afraid about rumors that boo.com is back. robert.haaland1 Last week's winner, the Bay Guardian. The saga continues! Robert Haaland snipes in the letters column about Matt Gonzalez's snipe in the letters column the week before, about an op-ed by Harvey Milk Club prez Greg Shaw that ran two weeks back. Plus, the world's most excellent article about infighting in the San Francisco left -- someone, please option this for TV! It's totally next season's Lost! They could call it Left! This week's op-ed is by an activist in the leather community about joining the SF People's Organization; we look forward to next week's angry response in the letters to the editor! It doesn't really matter what else is in the paper (but, just so you know, the cover article is about a Russian guy getting deported under bad circumstances, represented by fresh-faced attorney Rocky Tsai.) The Weekly: Matt Smith on bikes. Dog Bites says the SFIFF is badly run, and Ray Ratto uses the prefix "crypto" too often. Cover article: Ostensibly about a bad-boy photographer, but okay, okay, we only looked at the pictures of naked people, is that so wrong? Icelandic chanteuse Emiliana Torrini. (Why isn't her last name something "-sdottir"?) And Savage Love: foot fetishist, panty fetishist, and STDs. The EBX and the weekly of the week, beyond the expandotron. ...
