Wired Magazine has an interesting feature piece on what we believe to be one of those "only in San Francisco" kinda businesses: a mechanic who not only specializes in hybrids, but attempts to run a green garage.

It's been five years since SF Camerawork, a non-profit dedicated to photography and digital media, had its own gallery. Since 2001, Camerawork has shared exhibition space with New Langton Arts, but no longer. SF Camerawork has moved back to its old hood, and is celebrating its new location at 657 Mission St. (at 3rd) with a Grand Opening party from 5-9pm. Check out the inaugural exhibition at the new gallery, Ghosts in the Machine, which considers "the notion of haunting as a set of cultural conditions that arise when estranged moments in national histories and collective memory are not given their due."

Brave the perennially grey skies of the Excelsior and head on down to the Progressive Organizing Center's (4760 Mission Street between Persia and Russia, how glamorous sounding!) Grand Opening tonight from 6-9.

As you can guess from the fact that we're still posting instead of primping, we didn't get invited to the H&M opening party. Sure, we're a little bit pissed, but we felt a lot better once we realized that all of the seriously cool people we know hadn't gotten invited, either. Soon, these invitations took on a mythical proportion in our minds, somewhere between Moby Dick and all that money MicroSoft's gonna send us.
