Grampa Simpson last year, Gavin appears to be channeling another person at the start of 2007, that of an attendance officer. After complaints were made about attendance problems with various city commissions and problems tracking them, the whip is now going to be cracked whip to make it so City Hall can know who is a flake and who is not.
You Had To Be There
Your Commute: Down on the Upside
We have actual real-live good news on the transportation front today and yes, that's a sentence we don't write a whole lot.
First up is MUNI which is now using the 1 California to test out a new system to ensure busses are on time. Why the 1 California? Because Gavin got in a tiff when he waited for one and watched four go buy without stopping. So he called Nathaniel Ford himself to complain. See, it sometimes pays to be all Grampa Simpson like. The story doesn't say, however, whether Gavin was incognito when he awaited one or why he was riding the 1 at all. Hmmm...maybe the whole hair thing was just part of some elaborate disguise.
SFist Week in Review: MUNI, MUNI, MUNI
We here in the Bay Area may not agree on many things, but the one thing we do agree on is that MUNI sucks. Hell, even the Mayor realized this as he went all Grampa Simpson on us and whined about it. Whether it's litter or bad drivers or super-crowded busses, the week was nothing but one big huge MUNI kvetch.
Grampa Newsom's MUNI Plan
It's not a good sign when even the Chronicle points out that Newsom's MUNI plan kind of sucks. Maybe after making his big splash announcement that he was going to have an announcement yesterday, he built up the hype too much or something.
