So, last night on Bravo, four of the cheftestants from Top Chef season one went head-to-head against four cheftestants from season two. Eight chefs. Four courses. Head to head. Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, and often-guest (and apparent season 3 regular?) Ted Allen were there to judge. At stake? $20k to charity of the winning team's choice. All this one was missing was a cue card-reading contest between Katy Lee and Padma. And all we really want to say is "we told you so."...

So last night the best reality show on television came to an end for this season. It was down to the final two -- perhaps there was a little controversy, perhaps one of the other contestants should have been there in some viewers' minds -- but on this program, the final two gave it their all in a stunning performance so see who would go home with the prize. Cripes -- what are we supposed to do until next season?...

So, anyone else out there watching Top Chef on Bravo? Allow us to introduce you to it -- it's like the Apprentice for foodies, with challenges that actually measure the contestants' abilities in their chosen profession. And, at least thus far, it's every man for himself. And, notably, it takes place right here, in our fair city. The cast of 12 are vying for $100,000 and a feature article in Food & Wine....
