Gangsta rap aficionado and geography major Stefanie Gray has conveniently mapped out all of Ludcris' hos from his ditty "Area Codes." Awesome. Here's just a taste of some of his ho-based area code shout outs:

It's looking like a wet weekend as we got a major storm headed our way. Throw in some cold temperatures and it's looking like it's the kind of weekend to stay in, wear pajamas, and catch up on "Arrested Development" repeats on G4. How bad does it sound? Says a weather service guy: "We're looking for winter to step through the door sometime on Friday," The storm will also bring with it big swells and whatnot so the only people who will psyched on the weekend will be surfers.
Seems like all the cool stuff happens when we're out of town. We can't leave San Francisco for a couple of weeks without Hell freezing over and Apple releasing a way to run Windows on Intel-based Macs. We have to admit to some relief when we heard the neighbor's dog going ballistic on the mailman this morning, and overheard some hipsters making fun of The Marina this afternoon — we were starting to worry the fiber of the universe was unraveling.
The MacWorld Expo is going on all week at Moscone Center, and there's been all kinds of speculation going on about the internets concerning what Steve Jobs was going to unveil at his opening keynote address this morning. Rumors ranged from the "definite" unveiling of a new Mac mini-based home media PC (and we chomped on that rumor like a bass), to the "unlikely" announcement of a new Apple-branded HDTV.
I'm opening my Christmas gift from SFist now: the opportunity to write without the editorial "we" and with opinions I don't have to disguise with any pretense of objectivity (or being entirely San Francisco- or technology-related). Here are my picks for the best of 2005 and what I'm looking forward to in 2006:
Sometimes, video games journalists seem vaguely Colbert-ish: earnest, confident, utterly out of touch. (Case in point: G4's "Judgment Day," with the slogan "all verdicts are final" -- oooh, the verdicts are final, OMG, they're totally the new Judge Judy.) But we're cautiously optimistic about "Reset," a new gaming news/lifestyle show, locally produced by Big Love Productions. Anchors include trustworthy fragdoll Kat Hunter (whose work SFist likes) and Raymond Padilla (whom we don't know, but he has a pleasant email demeanor) as well as Zoe Flower (who's Canadian and therefore potentially awesome). It's damn near impossible to find quality reporting in video games journalism -- it generally either consists of inarticulate fanboys churning out bland feature-lists, or poindextery assclowns trying to fit Foucalt into a review so they can call it New Games Journalism. So far, "Reset" only has one episode online, but they seem to know what they're doing: low on rhetoric, big on content, what's not to love?
Kevin Rose, the cutie-pie techie on TV who moved to LA when Tech TV became the G4 network, has wiggled out of his contract and is producing a new show for internet distribution, Systm, and also promises to start producing new episodes of The Broken. As long as forties and Ramzi are on hand, we're sure it'll be a success. [via BoingBoing]
We decided to take a day trip on the Muni. And now that we have our wireless card, we decided to warbus the city. Live blog updates after the jump. Ever since we found out 94110 is the most saturated WiFi zip, we had to see how the other neighborhoods fared. We know it's geeky, and we know you love it.
