The jar was fully covering the baby fox's head, and Adleman knew it was likely a matter of days before the fox died of dehydration or hunger — even though the fox was still cavorting around with his siblings and able to get around because he could see through the plastic jar.

Laughing Squid picked up the story, and Adleman had been documenting the litter of foxes and the mom for a couple of weeks on her Instagram account, even capturing the mother nursing the kits on video.
<div align="center" style="width:100%;
But now the article, written by Nellie Bowles for California Sunday Magazine, will be giving television the cues. Deadline reports that a dramatization/adaptation of the piece is in the works from Matt Reeves, who along with J.J. Abrams served as the co-creator of the classic college TV drama Felicity.

A show about the lives of teens working in tech is a far cry from Reeves' recent work writing and directing the latest Planet Of The Apes feature. But for the drama, to be called In the Wild, he'll have help in writing from Natalie Krinsky. Krinsky has written for Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy and was most recently steeped in the YA genre, adapting popular coming of age novel I'll Give You the Sun for the screen according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"In the Wild" is likely a riff on the slang for seeing a product or service used on the street. For example: How many Apple Watches have you seen in the wild by now? Like a million? Me too.

Anyway, all the talent attached to this is no doubt promising, but it's worth registering a note of skepticism. Considering the short-lived Amazon show Betas and the third season of Silicon Valley on HBO in progress, do we really need another TV show about teenagers in tech?

Video: Bird Poops On Fox Anchor During World Series Report

McCovey Cove outside AT&T Park is full of seagulls flying high above.
McCovey Cove outside AT&T Park is full of seagulls flying high above. Seagulls with full bellies waiting to take acrobatic craps. However, FOX40 Sacramento anchor Paul Robins might not have been aware of that before one of them pooped on him during a live World Series report. Now he knows.

The avian fecal matter seems to have landed on his head and jacket. But Robins took the scat-uation in stride, saying, "I have to tell you Bethany, one of my goals in life is to make it on YouTube and I think I just did."

Everyone knows conservatives hate art. They especially hate contemporary art that was funded by any source other than one's parents' old money, especially if that source is the NEA. Well, a couple of Oakland-based artist-architects, Ronald Rael and Virginia San Fratello are catching heat from conservative windbags across the land because they just created an environmental installation at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden using 1,368 glass tubes that were salvaged from the former Solyndra plant, and conservatives also will every chance they can get before November to remind everyone about the Solyndra mess. The artwork, called SOL Grotto, is being dubbed by Fox News "the world’s most expensive work of art."

What they're referring to is of course not the actual, market value of the glass tubes, but the fact that the Obama Administration giving a $527 million loan to Solyndra in 2009 which will never get paid back because the Fremont-based company was woefully mismanaged and went out of business last year.

Anyway, SOL Grotto looks lovely, and you should all go see it. In the video above, artist Rael talks about the work and gives a swell tour. And in true Berkeley fashion, Botanical Garden director Paul Licht hopes the controversy will bring more people to look at the plants. Because he says the garden has "the leading collection in the country."

Media rascal and likely criminal Rupert Murdoch will be in town on Friday, kicking it at the Palace Hotel (2 New Montgomery) while "addressing the National Summit on Education Reform at the invitation of a nonprofit run by presidential brother and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush," reports SF Examiner's Amy Crawford.

While the exact topic of his speech hasn't been made public, he plans to be part of stratergizing issues around "failing schools, learning through technology, and overcoming obstacles to publicly funded tuition vouchers." And possibly the best way to rid the world of gays, unwed black mothers, and anchor babies. Something horrific like that, presumably.

Friday's conference at the Palace will happen mere blocks from where Occupy SF encampment in front of the Federal Reserve Building on Market Street. "One session, called “Don’t Let a Financial Crisis Go To Waste,' may raise their ire," Crawford deftly goes on to point out.

Fox Picks Up J.J. Abrams' San Francisco-set (obviously) time-traveling (also kind of obvious) crime drama Alcatraz has been picked up by Fox. You'll remember crews were around town filming the pilot episode back in February and they must have captured some particularly compelling footage because rumor has it Fox was ready to pass on the series.

Back in January, io9 put together a comprehensive preview of the show, but the gist of it is: a group of guards and prisoners disappeared from the prison during it's 1960's heyday, only to reappear in the present. (Mystery!) Anyway, those of you still reeling from the loss of Lost might need to brace yourselves for another show about a time-traveling island, but at least you get Jorge Garcia as a "hippy geek" Alcatraz history expert.

Take, for example, a FOX40 news crew who were attacked outside a Sacramento iHOP on the 2900 block of Advantage Lane, near I-5 and Del Paso Road. After trying to question a group of people who had gathered outside the restaurant to mourn the shooting death of a 27-year-old man, which occurred in the same parking lot on earlier that morning, the distraught crowd went on a rampage.

Sacto Bee reports:

She ran to her car, where people surrounded her, screaming and pounding on her windows. She escaped unharmed but shaken.

Twitter Hackers Brighten Gloomy Monday Morning

4chan's /b/ board, the tasty bowels of the interwebs, are claiming credit for this morning's Twitter account hackings of two of the most importance forces in the universe: <a href="http://valleywag.ga...

misc

britney

Britney Spears

Fox

Fox News

hackers

humor

Brock Keeling

*FILM: The 5th Annual San Francisco Irish Film Festival kicks things off with by director Lenny Abrahamson and writer Mark O’Halloran. This is followed by a reception with the Consul General of Ireland, Emer Deane. According to LS, "other highlights include Speed Dating, a romantic comedy about a lovelorn amnesiac; the award winning Irish-language feature film Kings, and finally The Undertaking, a documentary about Irish American undertaker and poet Thomas Lynch, who is famed as the inspiration for hit HBO series Six Feet Under. Thomas Lynch and film director Cathal Black will be at the screening for a Q &A. Plus, the ever popular, Magners n’ Shorts Program (Magners Irish Cider is served for free during the film program) and Irish TV Night will also return to this year’s festival." <mtinclude blog_id="24" module="Corolla: Crest"> </mtinclude>

LECTURE: Yeah, yeah, you can go listen to Greil Marcus prattle on endlessly about the Magnetic Fields and the outback, or whatever, later this month at teh JCCSF. Or better yet, you can hear Family Ties creator Gary Goldberg talk about what it was like working with Michale J. Fox (his second choice to play Alex P. Keaton), Stephen Spielberg (who Goldberg tried to talk out of doing E.T.), on the set of Spin City, and more. He speaks tonight at the Jewish Community center of San Francisco. (Also, according to IMDB, he doesn't own a computer. The hell?)

DANCE: While the members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater probably can't bust out "Turkey Lurkey Time" to save their lives, they're still not half bad. Check out the famed dance troupe across the bridge over UC Berkeley's Zellerbach Hall.

OMG! It's the Nicole Ritchie of laptops! (Ritchie before she got fat and pregnant, that is.)

It seems that the new MacBook Air, just unveiled a few hours ago, features multi-touch ability on its oversized trackpad, similar to that of the iPhone; some sort of crazy wirelessness; recyclable aluminum case; a mercury and lead free display; and you can buy the thing in two weeks, starting at around $1799. Read more about it here.

Dede, will you buy us one? Oh, come on!

One more thing, in cahoots with Touchstone, Miramax, LionsGate, Fox, Warners Brothers, Walt Disney, Paramount, Universal and Sony, Jobs also introduced iTunes Movie Rentals. You can keep movies for 30 days, "movies will be start playing less than 30 seconds after the download starts," and we'll still hold onto our Netflix subscriptions. Again. Amid a "high level of interest," it seems, Young Broadcasting plans on possibly peddling the network to the highest bidder. KRON 4, once the golden child as the Bay Area's NBC affiliate, was sold eight years ago and turned into an independent station. After seeing much of the KRON 4 news team jump ship - like Pete Wilson (RIP), Wendy Tokuda, and wet dream-inducing Ross Palumbo - the place was renovated into the Fox News Corp's MyNetwork TV. Ta-da. (Really, the station could have saved itself if they had planned a local reality show on the lives of crystal meth-infused trannies. We're not kidding.)

Today, it is now known as the station where many of us watch Dr. Phil and his glazed wife, Robin.

But don't take our word for it. Do any of you watch KRON 4? Any favorites? Henry's Garden? Bay Area Backroads?
