We're getting word of the second semi-violent petty theft in a couple of days in the Excelsior District -- and the third or fourth in the city in recent weeks involving a gold chain getting ripped from someone's throat -- and we hope this isn't the start of a new trend. A 76-year-old woman was walking near Excelsior Avenue and London Street just after 5 p.m. last night when she was attacked, shoved to the ground, and robbed of a gold necklace by two women in their 20s. Early this morning a teenage boy was stabbed to death in San Francisco's Excelsior district. The murder victim was strolling with a girl at around 1:30 a.m. "when they were confronted by four teenage boys at Lisbon Street and Persia Avenue," according to the Gate. The assailants demanded money from the girl, pushed her away, and stabbed the unidentified male. He later died at San Francisco General Hospital. No descriptions of the hooligans are available. BERNAL HEIGHTS EXCELSIOR, SUNDAY: After three people were shot in broad daylight at Maynard and Congdon streets, two of the gunshot victims died. It seems the men were driving southbound on Congdon Street at 3:10 p.m. yesterday when they encountered another car going northbound on the same street. A suspect in the second car then fired, shot three and killed two, and fled. No arrests have been made. more ›
