As we mentioned earlier, RuPaul's Drag Race is the show you should be watching. If you don't get Logo from your cable provider, then head over to Midnight Sun. Or any homosexual bar with a TV. You have no excuse now. Because the quality of the show is as excellent as any Breaking Games of Mad Men on a Throne and as viscerally appealing as an episode of Bad Girls Club Goes to Intervention. It is, in a word, art. Drag Race is that exquisite—and, unusually, it keep getting better. (Now in its fourth season, we predict Sharon Needles to slam the competition, past or present.) The only thing missing are appearances by San Francisco's notorious drag sect. So far not one queen from the Bay Area has competed on the show.
Where Are The SF Queens On 'RuPaul's Drag Race'?

Pizza Hut Bans Man Wearing for Drag
Pizza Hut, noted purveyors of the Personal Pan Pizza (do they still carry those?), sits in hot water this morning after 86ing a male customer for wearing drag. Vishon Murphy was apparently asked to leave the fine dining establishment for sporting a summer dress and sandals at a Wallace, North Carolina location. But before calling for a widespread boycott (one shouldn't be eating Pizza Hut food products on gastronomic principal alone), Pizza Hut alleges that Murphy was kicked out of the "typical hangout place for young people" (how sad) for not ordering anything and acting like a "drama queen."

Local Drag Luminaries Reflect on Miss Vicki Marlane
After news broke yesterday that local transgender/drag icon Miss Vicki Marlane died, many folks in the queer community were taken aback. To say the least. Given the moniker "The Lady With the Liquid Spine" due to her trademark flexibility while lip syncing, Marlane was profiled in the New York Times two years ago, presumed to be the oldest, continuously performing, transgender performer in the U.S. at the time of her death. We asked a few local drag luminaries to give us their thoughts on Marlane's passing and her legacy. Here are there responses.

Peaches Christ Talks 'Mommie Dearest,' Faye Dunaway, and Child Abuse
High-glamour child abuse, anyone? You are in luck. On Saturday night, Peaches Christ (Midnight Mass creator, All About Evil writer/director) will once again screen Mommie Dearest, this time in honor of its 30th anniversary. Obviously, it's a show not to be missed. For the uninitiated the Hollywood biopic tells the tale of movie legend Joan Crawford's relationship with her slow-swimming, rare-meat-hating, can't-clean-a-bathroom-worth-shit daughter, Christina. Though a critical and box office disaster upon its release, the flick has since garnered loyal fans throughout the world, making it the foremost cult film of our time. Calling Mommie Dearest underrated would be an understatement. To learn more about the movie's unprecedented phenomenon, SFist talked to Peaches for further insight about Crawford, abusing your offspring, and, of course, Faye Dunaway and her crazy ass.

Pardon us, San Francisco Examiner, but Donna Sachet is not "a drag queen dressed in a red ball gown." She is THE drag queen dressed in a red ball gown. Next you'll be telling us that you've spotted an unidentified Asian man hanging out in the mayor's office.

Oakland to Lift Ban On Cross-Dressing
Oakland went ahead and finally banned one of the city'/s most bizarre and benign laws: cross-dressing. Today, the Oakland council voted 7-0 to remove the ban from the city's municipal code. CBS 5 notes: "The ordinance, adopted in 1879, bans people from dressing 'in the attire of a person of the opposite sex.'" No one, authoritative or otherwise, took the law seriously, but it's still a good things to eradicate - in Oakland or anywhre else.
