Which is to say, the last time we had Filipino food, the green beans were made of pork. Well, hold the phone because we've got some news for you. A new Filipino restaurant, No Worries, just opened in Oakland. They've veganized so many classics that we started eating when the doors opened last Friday and haven't stopped yet. Our favorite so far? The Kare-Kare, which is vegan meat, eggplant, string beans, and cabbage in this delicious savory peanut sauce. Get a huge bowl of it for 9 bucks and an extra buck for rice. Just in time for summer's heat (read: 65 degrees), Dynamo Donuts, the latest Mission district food pusher to create slickly produced versions of plebeian fare, has opened up a lovely back patio to customers. SF Weekly's Mary Ladd notes: "Dynamo's Sara Spearin told us that Elisa Baier designed the garden: mostly edible herbs and flowers, with Baier-designed pots that Spearin said would be for sale."
