SFist Watches: Even More Sunday Fall TV Premieres

SFist Watches: Even More Sunday Fall TV Premieres

Tonight's most exciting season premiere is probably the return of "Dexter" on Showtime at 9 p.m. The show, starring Michael C. Hall as a forensics expert who is also a serial killer (who only kills other serial killers), was both disturbing, funny, and oddly touching last season, and we're curious to see what this season will bring since Dexter has done away with his nemesis. Of course, the revelation of who that nemesis really was has opened up some interesting possibilities. We could take this opportunity to rant about Comcast and their ridiculous pricing schemes, and how getting Showtime would add another 60 bucks a month to our already astronomical cable bill...but we won't. We'll watch the premiere for free on Yahoo! and then rely on the Internets and friends with Showtime to watch the rest of the season. Screw you Comcast! (The premiere of "Brotherhood" follows at 10 p.m.) more ›

Week Around the -Ists

Week Around the -Ists

Seattlest watches as a S.L.U.T. is born and Seattle Flickr users go nuts over a local art installation. A restaurant critic demands a Diner's Bill of Rights over a gnat next to her drink, and, in lieu of a Portlandist, Seattlest debates with itself over the identity of the Northwest's crown jewel. Seattlest also joins the guys from Fantagraphics for an ill-fated gun party in the woods. more ›

Staggering Through Fog

SFist Watches: The Truth This Week

Finale season is upon us, and while the season enders of "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" are definitely worth mentioning (and perhaps we will next week) we really can't think of anything more important on TV this week than the premiere of the Federlines' reality show. We ask you, as they've asked us: Can you handle their troof? more ›

SFist Reads

If you're lucky, you'll see an SFist b***hfight between those of us who are competing to reserve the hottest new books at the San Francisco Public library. There are some days we can't face SFist Rita's kung-fu, however, so we break down and just buy the books we want at one of our fine local independent bookstores. more ›

Beauty's Where You Find It

SFist is the first to admit that we subscribe to a sh**load of magazines. The upside of this is tons of fun reading for the N Judah, gym, and plane ride. The downside is the crazy amount of promotional email we get from our various pubs. (Yes, we've tried the "unsubscribe" option at the bottom of all of these email. No, it doesn't work.) Check out this email we got to some random yahoo account we think we gave to Vogue after setting it up to respond to a missed connection we though might be us. Turns out it wasn't, but we didn't want to waste the email address, and so, Vogue. more ›
