Sunday: We're having Lucky Charms drenched in green beer for breakfast, as it's time for the 154th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade! The parade starts at 11:30 at Market and Second, and runs all the way down to City Hall, and the Civic Center celebration (food, bands, the usual) begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m.

Everyone Loves a Parade Part Deux
If you love parades, you'll love this weekend. We got the St. Stupid's Day Parade on Friday, the Cesar Chavez Parade on Sunday, and on Saturday, there’s the Reclaim the Street Party. What's the Reclaim the Street Party? It's a Community Mutiny! The organizers are calling for everyone to get dressed up in costume, bring noise-makers and/or puppets, plus any method of transportation that doesn’t involve fossil fuels, and to meet at Dolores Park by 1 PM this Saturday. From there, everyone will march on down to some some undisclosed spot where a costume ball and party will be held. Quelle fun.
Everybody Loves A Parade
So good luck dealing with any state agencies tomorrow -- they'll be shut down in observance of Cesar Chavez Day (though that could all change if the Governator has his way). So if you just have to find State Comptroller Steve Westly, he'll probably be sipping cocktails at the 19th Green somewhere -- we mean, uh, reflecting upon and honoring the life of one of America's greatest folk heros on what would be his 78th birthday. However, if you really want to pester Barbara Lee, she'll be the Grand Marshall at the Cesar Chavez Day Parade on Sunday. Featuring music by Caminante, Bayonics, Los Mocosos, Jorge Santana and Bandido, as well as food, arts and crafts, it starts at 11:00am at Justin Herman Plaza and will begin down Market to Civic Center Plaza at noon. Feliz Cumpleaños, Cesar! Si se puede!
Classy
While Dems accross the country swoon for the handsome Barack Obama and John Edwards, San Franciscans had a lot to be proud of - being the bluest town in the bluest state in the union. SFist thought that House Minority Leader, Rep. Nancy Pelosi [D-San Francisco] gave a great speech [RealPlayer, from C-Span], even if she did pull a few punches. And Da Mayor, Gavin Newsome, was fetted all week as a rising star in the party.
