An SFist reader spotted comedian Dave Chappelle walking on Market Street the other day, interrupted his privacy, and snapped up the photo at left. (Thanks, Flickr user 3dollarbilly!) What he also caught was the now dead CompUSA store haunting and taunting us in the background. Why, CompUSA? Why? After years of adequate tech service, malodorous customers, and pointless and comprehensive backpack searches, you go on close your doors. Awful. For us non-Mac users, we......

We had just finished reading Steven Winn, Chronicle Arts and Culture Critic's (why do we feel compelled to go "well, lah dee dah" when we see that title?) decidedly mixed review of Dave Chapelle's show Monday at the Punch Line, when we got a follow-up to yesterday's Dave Chappelle piece from hott and sexxy SFist Tipster Katie: I just heard from a bunch of my co-workers that they saw Dave at the Sportsclub/LA gym......

Big fat SFist thanks to Tammy, who emailed us this tidbit: Subject: Just overheard on the 6th bus heading downtown At 4th and Market, this average young white guy gets on all excited and calls his friend on his cell. He says, "oh my god, you wouldn't beleive what just happened to me. I was in the Apple store buying an ipod when I see this black guy who looks real familiar. I go up......

Last week's winner, the San Jose Metro: Gary Singh does his best Travis Bickel to help out a friend getting blackmailed for her journal. Cover article: Blogs! Will they change politics? (no.) An experimental Canadian thriller, a documentary about Israel and Palestine: it's Cinequest time. Greek food in Santa Clara -- we were taken by the title, "Your Pal Is Athena." And BET Uncut -- the educational TV program! ("Once an acoustic guitar gets to......

It's all about bravery, people. But don't misplace your faith. Supporters rally for Gerardo Sandoval, whereas Jan Wahl has trouble with the audience. Dave Chappelle comes to town. How come we didn't know? Because we don't have B-list stars calling us like the Gavster does. Sean Elsbernd -- maybe not so good at math. He is, however, well mannered -- a rare quality these days. We're not narcissists, we're just self-aware. Unless, of course,......

So if you tuned into KRON this morning to catch Phil Matier (and really, who doesn't love that moustache?), you might have noticed that he was a bit cranky, since a certain be-gelled guest was late arriving. Turns out that it's because, unlike us plebes who were never Paris Hilton's BFF, Gavin was tipped about Dave Chappelle sweeping into town by his homeboy (seriously, he described him as "my good friend") Chris Tucker and......
