15-year-old Allison Bayliss of Danville was last seen Monday morning riding to San Ramon Valley High School. Her bike was found near the Golden Gate Bridge. SF Appeal reports: "At about 4:45 a.m. today, Bayliss' family informed authorities that they had found Allison's bike in the Battery East parking lot, just to the east of the bridge on the San Francisco side." A search is now underway for the missing teen.

Fighting Words: Danville Express' Reason NOT To Go To San Francisco
Well, this is downright adorable. Glenn Wohltmann of Danville Express compiled a list of reasons why you should not spend time San Francisco -- 25 of them, too! -- and instead visit Danville (a village buried somewhere in the East Bay, we think) for a day of, er, fun.
Sully Coming Home Celebration This Saturday, 1/24
Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the man who is credited with saving the lives of 155 passengers when he deftly landed U.S. Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River, is coming home on Saturday. And since he's being hailed a hero, a hero's welcome he will get.
Sully Nixes NBC Interview
Well. Looks who's got a big ego now. My word. Pilot hero Chesley Sullenberger, who saved passengers of Flight 1549 by flying in to the Hudson River and currently being hailed as the second coming of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has backed away from an interview with morning TV piece of tail Matt Lauer. It seems he will be willing to do media interviews "when the time is right" -- i.e., when Oprah throws six figures at him. Sullenberger and several other flight crew members have asked the press to "respect their desire to refrain from participating in interviews until further notices" while the National Transportation Safety Board investigates the accident." (Come on, Sully. This is one of the few times anyone is interested in anyone from Danville.) In the meantime, in an effort to hide from the glaring media spotlight, Sullenberger is over in Washington DC getting ready to attend tomorrow's inaugural festivities. Anyway, we demand more Sully!
Contra Costa Pilot Hero of Flight 1549
SF Citizen has a glowing review of local pilot Chesley Sullenberger, who is being branded a hero after keeping Flight 1549 afloat long enough for all passengers to get out before it sank. Yesterday, if you recall, an Airbus 320 dived into the Hudson River just after takeoff. Remarkably, no lives were lost. Birds, sadly, are being blamed for the near disaster. Wow. We hope we're this feisty, and wildly insane, when we're sixty-four.
