So what happened over the weekend in sports? The Raiders looked impressive, the 49ers not so much. In baseball, the Giants played some of their best baseball of the season while the A's played some of their worst. We, however, missed it all as we got suckered into the Lord of the Rings Trilogy on TNT and spent most of the weekend online debating the question of who would win a fight between Dumbledore and Gandalf. For the record, Gandalf totally would--Dumbledore just helped defeat some wizard who looked like a snake. Gandalf helped defeat a giant, flaming eyeball. Now onto the sports more ›

Indians 7 A's 2- The Indians ended the A's four game winning streak by routing Dan Haren. Haren's been pitching really well, but he's been hit hard by the Tribe in his career. In May, he gave up five runs in 5 2/3 innings and last night he gave up seven runs in 4 2/3. Overall, he has a 6.45 career ERA against them. The Angels didn't play, however, so the magic number remains at 7. The A's also play the Angels at home this weekend so if there's ever a time to do some jumping around and celebrating, it'll be this weekend. more ›

Sunday night, the A’s finished a 3-4 road trip with a frustrating 0-1 loss to Los Los Angeles Angeles de Anaheim Anaheim. Joe Blanton pitched the first complete game of his career, giving up 6 hits and a run and making everyone who hyped him going into this season look good, but the offense didn’t bring in the two runs it would have taken to win the game. more ›
