By now the tale of Jameth and his croc is San Francisco lore. Happening upon the severed plastic head of the reptilian creature at Church & Market, Jameth took pity upon the thing and made it a part of his daily life, making the wee thing a star in the process. As SFist reported yesterday, the croc was set free in Dolores Park, presumably never to be heard from again. Many weeped, a few cried, and someone even made a tribute video in her honor.

The croc, it seems, was finished.

Not so, folks! LiveJournal's tehdely snatched up the croc from Dolores Park to continue exploiting the creature, and we couldn't be happier. Long live the croc! Long live the love!

Update: The alligator has posted a Craigslist ad in search of Jameth. How romantic...

Jameth lost track of the alligator in Dolores Park this afternoon (see photo at right), and we're hoping another SFist reader might find her and pick up where he left off. If so, be sure to take lots of photos and send them to us at found [at] sfist [dot] com, or tag them sfist and croc (the 'gator was having a bit of an identity crisis for a while there)!
