Yes, you just recovered from the crowds at Oracle OpenWorld, we know. But now an even bigger event, Salesforce's Dreamforce convention is here through Saturday October 18 to snarl things right back up again.

You thought the 60,000 people here for Oracle were rough to take? Last year double that attended Dreamforce, and they say they expect even more attendees in 2014. These Dreamforcers will take over not just Moscone Center, but the Marriott Marquis, the InterContinental, the Palace Hotel, the Hilton Union Square, the Westin Market Street, the Century Theaters at Westfield, and the Westin St Francis.

According to the SFMTA, as of 8 p.m. tonight, Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets and Fulton Street between Larkin and Hyde streets will be closed, and won't reopen until 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 18.

Starting at 6 a.m., Saturday through 6 a.m., next Saturday, Grove between Larkin and Polk will also be shut down. as of 10 p.m. Monday, you can also kiss Larkin Street between Hayes and McAllister streets, Polk Street between McAllister and Grove streets, and Grove Street between Larkin and Hyde streets goodbye until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15.

That's not all! From noon Tuesday, October 14 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, Grove Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street, Polk Street between Grove and Hayes streets, and Dr. Tom Waddell Place (that's the street formerly known as Lech Walesa) between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street will be closed.

That last closure is likely because of the Tuesday's "Concert for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals," an event that's part of their "Dreamforce Gala." That night, attendees will enjoy cocktails at City Hall, a performance from Bruno Mars at Civic Center Plaza, and a performance from Cake (remember them?!?) at Bill Graham. There's even an "exclusive after-party" at City Hall, hosted by MC Hammer and (twitter hissyfitter) Will.i.am. Of course.

As you can imagine, pedestrian traffic (remember: 120,000 people) will be pretty intense, and vehicle traffic even worse downtown, even though the SFMTA says that "Parking Control Officers and San Francisco Police Officers will be deployed at key intersections throughout the closures." So if you can, avoid the closed areas, but be aware that the below Muni routes will also experience service delays and disruptions due to the convention:

Lentils for breakfast? Boozed up juice boxes for adults? Jelly bean mosaics? A wicker basket filled with TEN GRAND of fresh black truffles? Various food TV celebrities left, right and center? Yup, it's January and time for the annual Fancy Food Show at Moscone Center, with classic sweets, cheese, charcuterie, fancy teas and more, plus all kinds of new specialties. Attendance is limited to industry pros, but enjoy a few pictures here and look for some of these treats to appear on store shelves near you very soon. Lots more pictures here, too.

San Francisco played host to comic convention WonderCon. It's like ComincCon, only smaller. This year's convention saw, um, colorful fans of illustrated dramas, cartoon, furry sex, and explosive imagination converge at Moscone Center.

SF Weekly has more on the magic. Wire has more images of celebrities at the convention, including the most awesome Richard Kiel, who you might know for playing "Jaws" in 1979 James Bond bomb Moonraker.

-- Tease-O-Rama Meet 'N' Greet: Before the sluts of the weekend-long burlesque convention Tease-O-Rama have you sporting erections via cheeky performances, come meet them for an intimate night of, um, conversation. Also, '60s, '70s, and '80s will flood the dance floor care of the California Kid. Starts at 9 p.m. at Rickshaw Stop; $5.

-- St .Francis Day Animal Blessing: Yeah, this sounds like the best thing, ever. Come get your dog or cat blessed, so you can spend eternity in heaven with your best friend. OK, you're right, no one in SF is going to heaven (if there is one, that is.) 7 p.m. at Episcopal Church of St John the Evangelist; free.

-- Gary Gulman: Part of the emerging trend of comics you want to spoon, Gary Gulman is as funny as, but not as tool-y as, Dane Cook. He goes on at 8 p.m. at Cobb's Comedy Club, $15.

Speaking of slim, if you'd like to watch a bunch of overweight Americans work out and moan about their diets instead, there's always "The Biggest Loser" at 8 p.m. on NBC. (It had its season premiere last Tuesday.) We will attest that this is one of the best shows to watch while working out. Nothing will give you the motivation to stay on that elliptical an extra ten minutes than the sight of a 350-pound guy dragging a giant tire across the desert. Nothing!

After the Minneapolis bridge collapse, Bostonist did a little research and found that Massachusetts bridges could use a little help. But Bostonist brightened up considerably when they discovered they could drink themselves silly on the Amtrak booze ride and at the Sam Adams brewery. And, if they're not boarding the party train, they can think about their much-improved sports teams. Thanks to the arrival of basketball stars Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, Bostonist is finally feeling some Celtic pride. (They had to exercise that pride when a certain blog attempted to talk trash about their fair city.) Oh, and the Red Sox got pitcher Eric Gagne, too!

With hot weather forecast in the Midwest, Chicagoist offered its readers a survival guide to Lollapalooza. That isn't the only major event happening in the City of Broad Shoulders. The YearlyKos convention rolled into town, as well. Meanwhile, changes are afoot at the city's largest weekly newspaper after a change in ownership, more women are talking on their cell phones as a means of discouraging assaults, readers disagreed with a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee's decision not to serve pork breakfast sandwiches, and a retired machinist thought he won a million dollars until a Miller Lite girl took his winning ticket away.

DCist was a little testy this week: to start with, they called for a ban on Crocs after discovering that the ugly shoes are destroying the city's escalators, they gave another popular blog a hard time for ripping on their fair city for no reason, and they begrudgingly gave San Diego their best wishes after that city beat D.C. in the race to create more adorable panda cubs. Finally DCist Senior Editor Martin Austermuhle traveled to Chicago for the YearlyKos convention to speak on a panel about the struggle for District Voting Rights.

This week, Houstonist checked in on a series of fallen icons: an animatronic gorilla from their youth singing bad hip-hop, the virtuous halls of government invaded by a mysterious pink dildo, and a flamboyantly white-haired, blue-spectacled local news icon gone to the big TV studio in the sky. It all gives you something to think about while making late-night grocery runs in your PJs - which is totally acceptable, considering that Houston once annexed the city of New Orleans. And we all know what that means: drinks all around!

A finely modulated musicality pervaded his interpretation whenever Prokofiev gave him the opportunity, but the concerto is mostly a showpiece to display a dazzling technique, and Bronfman was up to the task, hands flying up and down the keyboard in neck-breakingly fast scales or in giant block chords.

Bronfman even brought a touch of, shall we say, creativity to the proceedings, by missing the last note of the first movement, a fortissimo ending which he landed slightly off, only to rebound one octave lower on an improvised, yet perfectly fitting ending. The whole thing happened so smoothly, so naturally, and Bronfman was so impassive, that we even doubt it ever happened. So pleased was the audience, it broke convention to applaud in-between movements. Yet MTT could not stop chuckling at his virtuoso for such clever resourcefulness and had to extend the break a little bit so he could regain his composure.

Afterwards, a fellow blogger irritatedly reported that he had stopped by Gavin Newsom's -same-timed rally up the street a little earlier, where Sean Elsbernd had told a snickering crowd, "I gotta leave soon, the progressives are down the street and they asked me to run for them since they can't find anyone to run against Gavin." We all groused about that, and then we were all basically like, "It's true." Maybe the progressives should get Elsbernd to run for them.

Tidbits include: Frank Chu, green and blue beads representing the unity of the Green and Democratic parties, and the sex of the newest Daly-to-be! Well, you could either go to Carnaval this weekend -- or you could go to the State Green Party Convention. Ross Mirkarimi (seen here going into the dunk tank) is giving the keynote address, and the delegates plan to debate issues like ranked-choice voting, lowering the voting age to 17, and immigration. They may also get to issues about global warming. The convention starts at 11:30 a.m., goes through the Memorial Day weekend and is mostly at the State Building at 455 Golden Gate (x Larkin), though if you make it through all the sessions, they're doing a hike in Muir Woods on Monday. You have to pay to go, but the cost is, mysteriously, not listed on the website.

--It's the 10th Annual Dionysian Dance Festival, featuring Isadora Duncan style dancers, classical Indian dances, and Japanese butoh dance, all in honor of Isadora Duncan's 130th birthday. 245 5th Street (x Folsom), $16, 8 p.m.

--An opera about Emperor Norton. Legion of Honor, 2 p.m., tickets starting at $18.
